26th Edition: Obaruwa Festival Planning Committee Unveils Events Program, Ewusi Preaches Unity

The planning committee of Makun, Obaruwa Festival of arts and culture has invites the general public to the 26th Edition of OBARUWA FESTIVAL 2024. Themed: “Exploring Cultural Values & Peace For Socio- Economic Development”, Monday 18th – Saturday 24th February, 2024.

The Obaruwa Festival is an ancient festival celebrated annually in Makun, Sagamu Ogun State, Nigeria. It is one of the popular festivals in the Yoruba land, and was once described for years as a festival that celebrates the black race amongst the Makun indigenes.

His Royal Highness, Oba Akinsanya Timothy, the Ewusi of Makun, has called on Makun Sons and Daughters to unite and solve challenges confronting community, to bring unity and progress.

Ewusi spoke in his Palace at Makun, Ogun State on Monday at the preparation meeting of the 26th edition of the annual Obaruwa Festival.

Speaking about the division in the black race, the Chairman committee on Obaruwa Day Festival 2024, Otunba Joseph Atoloye has called for the protection of the culture and traditions of the people and demanded an immediate end to any forms of discrimination among the son and daughter of Makun globally.
