Free Medical Outreach: Negbuwa Ibido, HRH Oba Kolawole Adesina Adeyemi Prioritizes Ages Health In Community

The Negbuwa Ibido, HRH Oba Kolawole Adesina Adeyemi has prioritizes the health of the ages in the community, as he organized a medical checkups for the elders in commemoration of his 2nd year on throne as the Negbuwa of Ibido kingdom.

Good health is vital for the sustainable development of communities, serving as a foundation for economic and social progress. A healthy population is more productive, enabling greater workforce participation. Sound health reduces healthcare costs, encouraging economic stability. Socially, it enhances the quality of life, ensuring communities thrive.

No fewer than 100 persons have so far benefitted from a free medical outreach programme at the Palace of Negbuwa Ibido, an outreach initiated by HRH Oba Kolawole Adesina Adeyemi, which has took a significant step towards improving the health and well-being of residents in his community.

Operating under the theme ‘Good Health Your Greatest Asset,’ and to be celebrated annually according to the monarch. The initiative’s primary goal is to facilitate the early resolution of community health issues, recognising the pivotal role that timely intervention plays in safeguarding the overall well-being of the community.

The initiative targeted the ages prevalent health concerns in the town, addressing key diseases that have a substantial impact on the residents, such as Malaria, Typhoid, Blood Pressure, Cough, and Skin Rashes. Medical supplies were provided during the medical outreach. Sugar tests were also conducted given the increasing rates of diabetes in the country. Those diagnosed were provided with guidance on lifestyle changes.

Speaking with The Eaglesforesight correspondent, one of the beneficiary said, ‘Our community is grateful for this generous gesture from our royal father, and we sincerely acknowledge Negbuwa Ibido, Oba Kolawole Adesina Adeyemi’s dedicated efforts and compassion. This initiative by him will empower the community by fostering a culture of health consciousness and preventive care.’

A elderly woman, who was one of the beneficiaries of the outreach, thanked Kabiesi Kolawole Adesina for the initiative especially the free hypertension and blood sugar screening.

She said, “I knew I was not feeling too fine on the inside but I was too scared to undergo any test or screening because of lack of funds and the fear of the unknown. Many people like my neighbours have been battling with different types of ailments but due to lack of funds I have been unable to run tests for proper diagnosis.

“I really appreciate Kabiesi for coming to our aid. With the present economic situation in the country, many of us can’t afford exorbitant cost of treatment at the hospitals. But he had brought doctors to examine us, conducted tests and gave us free medicine. I wish other kings and personalities can do same.”

Another beneficiary, also thanked the medical team for the free drugs given to him.

“Since the beginning of the year, I have been finding it difficult to buy some drugs and even pay for laboratory tests. But today, I have been given free drugs, and I’m still finding it difficult to believe that it is for free. I am yet to come to terms with it.”

Public health involves preventing diseases, promoting health, educating communities, providing healthcare access, maintaining a healthy environment, and being prepared for emergencies. This helps build resilient communities, a priority for the company.

Also another beneficiary, expressed, ‘Oba Kolawole Adesina Adeyemi’ Medical Outreach Programme is a testament to the transformative impact that community-driven health initiatives can have on the lives of individuals and the health landscape of a nation.’
