Yewa South: Group Holds 2-day Seminar In Ogun, Educates Youths On Effects Of Social Vices

In a bid to reaffirm the development of youths in Yewa South axis and their active participation in government, the Ifekowajo Progressive Youth Council, IPYC, had celebrates National Youth Day in a grand style.

The event which was held at Oke-Odan modern town hall, the Youth Council secretariat/Headquarter on Tuesday, Oct. 31st and Thursday, 1st of November respectively.

In a statement released from the office of the event Organizing Chairman, the two days seminar was themed, “Riding the waves of social change: empowering the Youth to conquer social vices and drug abuse.”

 

The guest lecturer, Dr. Oluranti Samuel (Department of Sociology LASU, Associate Professor) emphasized that the government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will bring more notable professionals in the country to keep the youths informed about the pathway to be creative and successful in such a way that will make them stop pathing the wrong and negative ways of life.

“This day would be used to celebrate Ifekowajo youths and all the contributions they make, as well as highlighting issues affecting young people in Ogun and Nigeria at large. With the aim of tackling these issues to support the youth, Yewa shall be a place to attract more investors to Ogun State.

“Notable young personalities, whom has been excelling in their individual niches in different creative sector was in attendance to speak about their journey to stardom and fame,” the organizers report.

“There are also young men and women currently doing wonders in the creative agencies, youth constituencies, departments and ministries of the government where they call the shots.

One of such are: representatives of NDLEA, Coordinator of NYCN Yewa South, Com. Adejoke Kafilat elected Deputy State Chairman, Ogun Chapter, reps of CDC’S and CDA’s.

Royal fathers in attendance are; HRM Oba Fagbenro Oluremi Lajulo the 2ND, Oloke Odan of Oke Odan, also, HRM Oba Alayeluwa Abdul Mojeed Rufai Alao Ilufemiloye Olowo of Owo Kingdom.

Then recorded in attendance a spiritual father of Owode Yewa land, Sheik Alh. Moruf Olorunyeagbami Adegbite, grand chief Imam Owode central mosque.

The youths are focused on bridging the gap towards developing potentials in the creative industry, to ensure we curb all sorts of social vices” the lecturer concluded.
