The publisher and ceo of SaharaReporter also the 2019 presidential candidate of African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore has bravely sent back a message to appreciate all his well wishers across the globe, for condoling with him over his brother’s demise



“The immediate younger brother of SaharaReporters publisher and human rights activist, Olajide Sowore was allegedly killed by unknown herdsmen on 4th of September 2021, Saturday morning around 6:25am, the source affirmed.”.


Sowore also confirmed this in a facebook post on his timeline. The activist said his brother was killed by suspected herdsmen or kidnappers”.

Sowore posted, “My immediate younger brother, Olajide Sowore was today shot and killed near Okada in Edo state by reportedly herdsmen /kidnappers on his way from Igbinedion University in Edo sate where he is studying Pharmacy.”.


They snuffed out the life yet another real human being!”.


Sowore was reportedly granted an interview on Sunday, where he thanks everyone across the globe for their solidarity support at this crucial period of his family and he made mentioned of his stands towards the forthcoming 2023 general elections.



The statement messages read below.


“Thank you all for reaching out with great love and kind words of consolation, support and solidarity over the tragic but still unexplained death of my dearest brother, Felix Olajide Sowore”.

“I send you loads of gratitude from the bottom of my heart and that of my entire family”. 

We should report to the public that despite the noise from Nigerian govt officials promising to “apprehend” my brother’s killers, we are not aware any security agency(ies) carrying out rescue operations to free those purportedly abducted or investigating the identity of Jide’s murderers.

“It is not as if we expect anything from the failed system that took our brother’s life, I feel that I owe you all an update on these matters”.

 “We will keep the public updated with progress regarding funeral arrangements, Sowore said”.
