It was a great program in the history of youths development in Ogun State, as many testimonies was coming from youths across the three senatorial districts of the state.

The Ogun Youth In Community Development Committee, has done it again to let Government and many individual knows that youths are not lazy with the way people turn out to show interests in participating in the program.

A program that lasted for weeks was scheduled to cover the three senatorial districts in the state. Ogun Central opened the program in the first phase, also Ogun East was touched at the second phase, while Ogun West wasn’t left alone at the program in the third phase. A day in September 2021, has been picked for the grand finale and the committe are looking forward to empower the participants after the training so as, just for them to have something doing with the skill that was learnt, the initiative was to contribute to the growth and economy development of the state.

Below is the full details of how the events unfold alongside with testimonies report from the participants during the program at each senatorial district.


06/08/2021. First Phase I

Ogun Youth in Community 2021 Vocational Training

It was an amazing 5days of powerful packed training for 50 young participants of Ogun state as Ogun Youth in Community Development Committee kickstarts the first ever vocational training on Tie and dye at Ogun Central.

The Participants were not only trained but inspired by different facilitators that spoke to them on the following 

1. Character building

2. Community Development attributes

3. Peaceful coexistence 

4. Online/Offline Marketing

“I never thought I could be this creative in my life” one of the participants says this with so much joy

“I got to know about this training through a friend, when she said it is free, I doubted it but am amazed with what I learnt within the few days” another comment from a participants.

The Ogun Youth in Community Development Committee ably led by the Coordinator (Com Usman Olamilekan) have set a standard by funding a multi million project without the involvement or intervention of any Government Officials but doing it as their contribution to the youth constituency of the state.

The training ends on Friday 6/8/2021. at Mowe-ibafo, Ogun Central. Ogun East will be the next district to receive this massive training come 9th of August, 2021. At Odogbolu LG.

The State Executives appreciates the good gesture of all Ogun Central Community Youth leaders and most especially the hospitality provided by the State Financial Secretary/Obafemi Owode Youth Rep. (Com Adeshina Adejumo) of Ogun Youth in Community Development Committee.

13/08/2021. Second Phase II

Ogun Youth In Community 2021 Vocational Training at Ogun East closes in grand style

Ogun East Senatorial district participants concluded their one week training of the Ogun Youth in Community 2021 Vocational Training on Tie and Dye at Hon. Odeneye Vocational Center Odogbolu.

It was an amazing one week of well packed impactful training on Tie & Dye at the Ogun East Senatorial District under the leadership of Comrade Usman Olamilekan (State Coordinator).

A surprise visitor that grace the closing of the Ogun East training who happens to be a pride to the Youth Constituency Comrade Abiola Odetola (Special Assistant to Ogun State Governor on Jobs Creation and Youth Empowerment). He was thrilled by the amazing creativity the participants displayed for a week training. In his words “These are part of what the Executive Governor of Ogun state Prince Dapo Abiodun MFR loves to be part of and he is so passionate about making impact in the state young lads”.

The State Deputy Coordinator (Com Ramani Shehu) who also doubles as the Project Coordinator for Ogun East Senatorial briefed the Committee on level of performance of participants.

“I actually obtain the form for my friend who knows nothing about Community Development Association, she didn’t take it serious, I had to plead for another form which is why am here and I must confess, my friend is regretting it after she saw me displaying what I have learnt within a week on my WhatsApp status”- Participants Comments

The State General Secretary for Ogun Youth In Community Committee (Asiwaju Oloko O Saheed) gave word of advice to the participants and appreciates the kind gesture and visitation of Com Abiola (SA on Jobs creation and Empowerment) and his team to Odogbolu center of the Vocational Training. He urge all the participants to also give back to others by training them which will add to what they have been trained. He further says “this training is not financed by any Government officials, it is the joint efforts of particular individuals that are passionate about the community development.

The State PRO (Com Adeyinka) gave vote of thanks and urge the SA to the Governor on Jobs and Empowerment to see this as an avenue to support the effort of Ogun Youth in Community Development by ensuring the participants are empowered no matter how little they get at the grand finale come 31st of August at Abeokuta, Ogun state.

20/08/2021 Third Phase III

Ogun Youth in Community Development Committee wraps up Ogun State Tie and Dye Free Training at Ilaro, Ogun West Senatorial District

The leadership of Ogun State Youth in Community Committee ably led by Comrade Usman Abdul-Ganiyu Olamilekan appreciates all participants for the Tie and Dye Training haven receives their excellent performance towards learning from the Facilitators.

The Ogun west participants for this years Tie and Dye Vocational Training scores a high mark on evaluation and performance.

The State Treasurer (Comrade Ope Oladimeji) & PRO(Comrade Olayinka) who also serves as the Ogun West Project Coordinators extensively ensure the success of the training was met.

Ogun west Senatorial District Leadership constant visitation to the training center added value and boosted the moral of both the participants and facilitators.

Participants Comments:

“We have just been trained for free and am already planning to train others”.

“Have been finding my creativity skills so difficult but within this short period of learning am on a positive mindset towards myself”.

“Is not just about the vocational training but the character building, social media marketing, mentoring will also help me in other business am into”.

We have been able to train 120 youths of Ogun State with our personal fund not because we want recognition but 

1. Passionately contributing our own quota to the development of our dear State

2. Reducing unemployment in the society

3. Controlling social vices

4. Building a future for young ones through skills acquisition training 

5. Creating a mindset for youth in a positive direction 

The grand finale which will be majorly on empowering the participants in our own little way is still open for sponsorship from any youth loving individuals of the State.

In conclusion, we would like to appreciate all those that had contributed to the success of the OGUN STATE YOUTH IN COMMUNITY COMMITTEE 2021 TIE & DYE TRAINING, let’s do it again 2022.

    Kudos to this initiative. In a time where unemployment is high, hand work can never be over emphasised, I pray this serves as a pacesetter for many more to come.
