Lado’s Father, Sir Kessington Adebutu Congratulates Gov Abiodun On Supreme Court Victory, Sues For Peace

Sir Kessington Adebutu, an industrialist and father of Hon. Ladi Adebutu, the Ogun State candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), in the 2023 governorship election, has congratulated Governor Dapo Abiodun on the revalidation of his re-election by the Supreme Court.

He has also urged his son to join hands with the governor in the interest of the state after the court’s verdict.

The Odole-Oodua of The Source, Sir Kessington Adebunkola Adebutu, in his congratulatory message to Governor Dapo Abiodun over the verdict of the Supreme Court affirming his victory as the duly elected governor of the state in the March 18 election, has also called for a peaceful meeting between his son, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu and the Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun.

He noted that the apex court judgement had put an end to all matters of litigation surrounding the election.

Adebutu, in a letter addressed to Abiodun dated January 22, said he had counselled his son, Hon. Oladipupo Adebutu, to sheathe the sword and join him in moving the state forward.

He urged the governor to seize the opportunity of the victory to reconcile the youths, natives, and all those who might have taken sides against him.

The letter reads partly, “I write to formally congratulate Your Excellency on your re-election and validation of the same by the Supreme Court of Nigeria, which is the final arbiter and its verdict a clincher, in all matters of litigation in our dear country.

“Inarguably, it was an intense contest involving my son, but irrespective, there must be an end to litigation and unhealthy rivalry; hence, I have counselled my son to sheathe the sword and join hands in moving Ogun State forward.

Furthermore, having expressed the desire to HRM, the Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo-Land, on the 23rd of December 2023, to meet with Remo Royal Fathers for the purpose of reconciliation, it is of essence that I seek Your Excellency’s cooperation towards seizing the opportunity of your victory, to reconcile our Natives, Youths, and all those that might have taken sides to file behind Your Excellency, with a view to not allowing the no love lost created by the gubernatorial contest to fester the more. This is being magnanimous in victory, Your Excellency.
