​2023 Sagamu Day: Sagamu Needs Prayer Not Celebration Of Day — HRM Akarigbo Says

2023 Sagamu Day celebrations  will should be celebrated in a lowkey, we need more of prayers than celebrations this year, HRM, Oba Adewale Ajayi Babatunde, the Akarigbo and paramount Ruler of Remo Land says.

Sagamu Day Celebrations Transformed into Solemn Prayer Sessions: A Unified Remo Land Stands Against Violence.

In light of the recent heart-wrenching events of violence in Sagamu, The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land, Oba Babatunde Ajayi, CFR, FCA, has made a resolute decision to transform the traditional Sagamu Day celebrations into a series of prayer sessions, in solidarity with the community’s collective grief and the imperative need for peace and healing.

Meanwhile, Akarigbo of Remo land has planned to join the Sagamu day Organized in diaspora for the year 2023 to celebrate the annual Day celebration.

The prayer sessions have been thoughtfully arranged, embracing the diverse faiths within the community, in the following order:

1. Friday, October 27th, 2023 – Islamic Prayer Session
• Location: Sagamu Central Mosque
• Time: 2:00 PM
2. Saturday, October 28th, 2023 – Traditional Prayer Session
• Location: Akarigbo Palace, Ita Oba
• Time: 8:00 AM
• Followed by a modest cultural display, commemorating the rich heritage of the Remo people.
3. Sunday, October 29th, 2023 – Christian Prayer Session
• Location: Saint Paul’s Cathedral, Sagamu
• Time: 10:00 AM

These prayer sessions serve as an embodiment of the unity and strength of the people of Sagamu, as they come together to mourn and pray for a peaceful and harmonious future.

The Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler calls on all residents and well-wishers to join in this spiritual journey towards healing and reconciliation.
