Sagamu Council Boss, Ogbeni Afo Commiserates With Victims Affected By Floods, Advise, Vows To Arrest Future Occurrences

In an open press statement released personally from the Sagamu Council Boss, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate Afolabi has emphasized with the family of the victims caused by the heavy downpour floods last night.

He stressed out on warning the residents of Sagamu to desist from throwing dirts in the drainages, and to stop blocking waterways and never erect structure. Ogbeni Afo also warned the parents and guidance to ensure kids and teens stays indoor under close monitoring whenever it is raining.

“I empathize with parents, family, friends and loved ones of the yet to be identified boy that died from the aftermath of yesterday’s cloudburst in Makun, Sagamu.”

­­­“This, again, is one of the too many avoidable deaths caused by the continuous abuse of our environment that we seems to have accepted as a norm.”

“It is also my hope and prayers that the reportedly rescued two survivals respond adequately to treatments while I liaise with necessary quarters for a possible, but timely solution to nip this reoccurring flood in the bud.”

“My strong advice to all is to desist from throwing dirts in our drainages, stop blocking waterways and never erect structure(s) on our waterways. I also appeal to parents to please ensure kids and teens stays indoor under close monitoring whenever it is raining. The raining season is here, and we must do all that is humanly possible to ensure lives and properties are safe.”
