Ogun Guber Result: Late Buruji Kashamu Vs Dapo Abiodun 2015 Election Tribunal, A Case Study To Start From — Rev Salau

In a grossly biased announcement by Inec, how could a candidate who was defeated at his Polling Unit, Ward, Local Government Area, Federal Constituency and Senatorial District, even at his office constituency in Abeokuta south declared winner, his defeated has shown the world a sign and height of his rejection, Rev Olusola Emmanuel Salau said.

“Such candidate shouldn’t be taken serious and trusted with the resources of our dear gateway state. Election Tribunal 2015 in Prince Dapo Abiodun Vs Late Buruji Kashamu of People’s Democratic Party PDP is a case study”, Reverend Salau mentioned.

He further stresses that if a candidate can lost at home to that extent that he has to disrupt everywhere on his order by using political thugs, then such election, if the totality of it is challenged by the opponent and contender. The 2015 election contest between late Buruji Kashamu versus Dapo Abiodun in Ogun East Senatorial election is a technical point to tender in the court of law at the tribunal.

“It’s very obvious and ideal that, since the incumbent Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun has lost and did not win this 2023 Governorship Election in his country home Senatorial District at Ikenne, Remo North and Sagamu. A Federal Constituency base of the Governor, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and their Senator Elect. That should be an embarrassment to the Democratic practice in the land if truly he was accepted by electorates.”

“Let me remind us in the case of Late Senator Buruji Kashamu v.Prince Dapo Abiodun for Senate 2015.”

“The Election Tribunal base on the Technical judgement in this case ruled that a plaintiff in a case like this can not prove that the defendant in this case rigged him out in other local government when the Plaintiff in that case did not win in his home town Iperu and Ikenne local government combined.”

In the present case, Dapo Abiodun did not win in his home town and again Ikenne local government combined where both him the vice president of Nigeria and from Remo North where is SSAs like Biyi, Showemimo, Niyi Akinsaya and Sagamu where His Senate Elect, Otunba Gbenga Daniel come from.

For Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun to have gone that extremely far to allegedly disrupt his local government to rig and conspired with INEC, security agencies overlooked how majority of the polling units and Collation centers in Remo were destroyed. A place where the PDP Governorship and State Assembly candidates have majority electorates. That would have helped the PDP Candidates in Ogun State to all get victory the electorates entrusted on them against Governor Prince Dapo Abiodun.”

In the just concluded Governorship election between His Excellency Hon (Chief)Dr Oladipupo Adebutu Vs HE Prince Dapo Abiodun, and of some state Constituency Assembly elections, the INEC could have saved her face by declaring that Election inconclusive with the evidence before them than going ahead to declaring Governor Dapo Abiodun as Governor Elect for Ogun State.
