National Industrial Court supports FG, Upholds ‘No work No Pay’ policy in Suit Against ASUU, the Academic Staff Union of Universities.

The National industrial Court has upheld the Federal Government’s ‘No work No Pay’ rule in the suit filled against the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU).

The court ruled that it remains within the right of the Federal Government to withold the salaries of striking lecturers who embark on industrial action.

The court however, rules that it is a violation of the University autonomy for the Federation Government to impose the Integrated Payroll and Personnel’s information systems (IPPIS) on members of the Academic Staff Union who maintains the right to determine how their salaries was to be paid.
