LCPL Temitope Juliet Lauds Newly Appointed COAS, Lagbaja As Ex-COAS, Yahaya Bows Out From Service

A young Nigeria female Soldier, Temitope Juliet who hails from Idoani, Ose Local Government, Ondo State has lauds the newly appointed Chief of Army Staff

LCPL Temitope who is from Signal Corps, serving at HQ 2 DIV, Adekunle Fajuyi cantonment, Odogbo, Ibadan commemorates with Major Gen. Taoreed Lagbaja who was appointed as 23rd Chief of Army Staff of Nigeria.

The Nigerian Army on Saturday, pulled out of service, the immediate past Chief of Army Staff, retired Lt.-Gen. Faruk Yahaya, following the change of leadership of the Armed Forces of Nigeria by President Bola Tinubu.

President Tinubu had on June 17, approved the appointment of new service chiefs, marking the retirement of the erstwhile chiefs from the service of the armed forces.

Pulling Out Parade is a traditional military ceremony to mark officers’ retirement from service which involves review of parade by the retiring senior officer, March past by troops and pull out if the retired officer by top Generals.

Ex-COAS said that, “whatever had a beginning must have an end, saying that Saturday, June 24 marked the end of his career that started on Sept. 27, 1985 when he reported to the prestigious Nigerian Defence Academy.”

He said, “my time in the army in command positions enjoyed a measure of support from subordinates, quoting Abraham Lincoln who once said, “no man is good enough to govern another man without the other man’s consent or support”.

“The Nigerian army has indeed grown and I want to use this opportunity to appreciate my predecessors for their dedication service to the army.”

Also, the female Soldier, Temitope has commemorates with Major Gen. Christopher Musa as the 18th Chief of Defense Staff of Nigeria.

“On behalf of all Armed Forces; we pray that your regime shall engender protection of our Armed Forces who are serving our country at home and abroad, whether in drills or in deployment. Keep us from harm in the Army, Navy and Air Force”, Temitope said.

“May God help us to be strong and courageous in all our attacks.”

Meanwhile, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, has appointed Major General A.B Ibrahim, as the Chief of Policy and Plans (COPP).

Lagbaja has also approved the appointment of New General Officers Commanding (GOCs) for some of the divisions of the Nigerian army and commandant for the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA).
