Lafarge-RIDSCo Bursary Exam Brings Hope To Sagamu Students, Shortlisting Process Begins

The Royal Initiative for Development of Sagamu Community (RIDSCo) has in a significant development for the educational advancement of Sagamu students partnered with Lafarge, a leading cement manufacturer, to facilitate a bursary program aimed at easing the financial burden on tertiary institution students from the community.

This collaborative effort underscores the commitment of both organizations to invest in the future of Ogun State through education.

The bursary exam, which was held today Saturday 12th of October, attracted a large number of applicants who are indigenes and residents of Sagamu currently enrolled in various Ogun State tertiary institutions. The students sat for the examination, hoping to qualify for much-needed financial aid to support their studies.

The initiative is specifically designed to cater to the academic needs of Sagamu youths, ensuring that deserving students have access to educational support without the pressure of financial constraints.

The bursary program, which has become a highly anticipated annual event, was established to promote higher education among indigenes of Sagamu. It reflects RIDSCo’s broader goal of fostering community development through empowerment initiatives. Speaking on the program, RIDSCo Chairman in Education, Mr Adekunle Bello emphasized the importance of education as a tool for both individual and community advancement.

“Our collaboration with Lafarge on this bursary initiative is rooted in our shared belief that education holds the key to long-term growth. We are committed to ensuring that no student from Sagamu is left behind due to financial challenges,” Bello stated.
