Lafarge-RIDSCo Bursary Exam Brings Hope To Sagamu Students, Shortlisting Process Begins
The Royal Initiative for Development of Sagamu Community (RIDSCo) has in a significant development for the educational advancement of Sagamu students partnered with Lafarge, a leading cement manufacturer, to facilitate a bursary program aimed at easing the financial burden on tertiary institution students from the community.

The bursary exam, which was held today Saturday 12th of October, attracted a large number of applicants who are indigenes and residents of Sagamu currently enrolled in various Ogun State tertiary institutions. The students sat for the examination, hoping to qualify for much-needed financial aid to support their studies.
The initiative is specifically designed to cater to the academic needs of Sagamu youths, ensuring that deserving students have access to educational support without the pressure of financial constraints.
The bursary program, which has become a highly anticipated annual event, was established to promote higher education among indigenes of Sagamu. It reflects RIDSCo’s broader goal of fostering community development through empowerment initiatives. Speaking on the program, RIDSCo Chairman in Education, Mr Adekunle Bello emphasized the importance of education as a tool for both individual and community advancement.

Sagamu Youth Association Special Duty 1, Comrade Bashiru Hammed Adewale popularly known as Honourable Prince Lahbash noted, “We are proud to see our sons and daughters being part of this initiative that directly impacts the lives of young people. By supporting the students of Sagamu, we are contributing to the growth of future leaders and professionals who will, in turn, give back to the community.”
The bursary examination, which tested students across various academic subjects, is the first step in the selection process.
