I’ll Complete My Tenure — Governor Rotimi Akeredolu Writes Assembly

According to the news article that was published online by Leadership newspaper this morning, it was replaced that Governor Rotimi Akeredolu convened a meeting yesterday with key stakeholders from Ondo State in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, on arrival from medical leave.

Among the stakeholders present at the meeting included members of the state executive council led by the deputy governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa; members of the State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Hon Oladiji Olamide; National Assembly members led by Senator Jide Ipinsagba, and including members of the state working committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) headed by the chairman, Engr Ade Adetimehin.

Also present,Comrade Olawande Ayo Wisdom, the leader of Ondo APC youth groups, along with former local government chairmen under the leadership of Hon Augustine Ogbesetore, and members from the Foundation of Wives of Ondo State Officials (FOWOSO) joined the gathering. Chief Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu,
The governor’s wife, was also present alongside her husband to welcome the FOWOSO members.

While at the meeting, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu formally handed over his resumption letter to Him Olamide, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, and also presented a copy to Lucky Aiyedatiwa the deputy governor, who was in attendance.

While at the meeting, Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu said, ““I came back yesterday and as you know it was a long journey. I decided that I must meet with you today. God has answered our prayers and we give Him all the glory.I can assure you that our return is to the glory of God and the prayers of all of you here, and those who wished us well.”

He thanked everyone and said God has done what the majority of the people wanted.That the majority of the people there knelt and prayed for his return and he has returned.

He continued and said, “So, because we had to land here in Ibadan first, I said I have to meet with House of Assembly members here. We are here and we are back. I am back and by the grace of God, I will be alive to complete my full tenure in office.

I want to tell you that I am back, and I will resume work immediately. This is my letter of resumption.”

During a meeting with the State Executive Council, Governor Akeredolu informed them that he had personally submitted his letter of resumption to the Speaker of the State House of Assembly.
