A church in Ajah, Lagos, the Celestial Church of Christ, Overcomer’s parish has been razed down to the ground and vandalised by angry mob over death of worker on suspected ritualistic killings.

The Celestial Church of Christ, (CCC) Overcomers Parish, Ajah Lagos has been razed to the ground by angry mob allegedly due to suspected ritualistic killings.

False narratives going round says that; “some body parts of the deceased have gone missing and the deceased was used for ritualistic purposes by the church.”

However, according to an eyewitness report and the website of the Church, “The deceased Hausa man known as Dongo was quite popular in the neighbourhood and was known for the job of cleaning septic tanks and also worked as an Okada rider.”

“The deceased was tasked with evacuating the septic tank in the premises of the Celestial Church and was actually paid for the job three days before the unfortunate incident.”

According to the church reports, “the deceased, while in the process of his work, slipped and fell into the septic tank.”

Reports gathered says that, “the assistant shepherd attempted to rescue the worker and fell into the septic tank as well.”

The Eaglesforesight correspondent gathered that, “the lifeless body of Dongo was eventually brought out, while the unconscious body of the Assistant Shepherd was also brought out of the septic tank. The deceased was pronounced dead at the hospital and the family of the deceased took custody of his remains with all parts of the body in place.”

The Police also attest to the fact that no part of Dongo’s body was tampered with. The arson at the Overcomers Parish was carried out by an angry mob largely made up of ‘area boys’ and Okada riders who also attacked the Shepherd of the Parish, and inflicted grievous bodily harm on him.
