 YCYW Ogun State Council Officially Inaugurates Executive Council of Sagamu LG; Presents Awards to Reputable Youths in Sagamu

The State leadership of Yoruba Council of Youths Worldwide (YCYW) – “Egbe Igbimo Odo Yoruba L’agbaye” has formally inaugurated Charter Executive Council for Sagamu LG on Saturday, March 20th, 2021 with Hon. Sunday Adebowale as the State Chairman. 

The inauguration ceremony which started around 11am was coordinated by YCYW State Chairman, Hon Sunday Adebowale. He administered the oath of office on the Charter Executive Council members at the Sagamu Town Hall.  

Hon. Sunday Adebowale, the Ogun State Yoruba Youths Chairman in his welcome address congratulated the new executive members and the Omoluabi Pataki Awardees from Sagamu local government and the organizers of the program and gave the assurance of total support from the State Council.

He stated that, Sagamu LG Council is the first in the history of YCYW Ogun State to inaugurate its local government council executives; he stressed on the need for all the executive members to be in Unity (Isokan) which YCYW stands for. 

He also called for the support of all the Traditional rulers, chiefs and prominent Yoruba elders in Sagamu to rise and embrace the course of emancipation, growth and development of Yoruba Land that the Yoruba Council of Youths has been agitating for. 

While delivering his own remarks, the Global President of YCYW, Aare Oladotun Hassan appreciated the organizers of the Omoluabi Pataki Awards Presentation and inauguration ceremony. He said, it is my great pleasure to be in your midst to witness this auspicious ceremony and I have no doubt that this new breed of leaders will do the entire Yoruba Council proud. 

Furthermore, he emphasized on the need for the newly inaugurated executives to preach and promote the spirit of Isokan (Unity), because Unity is strength. While handing over the staff of office to the new coordinator (Aṣoju ọdọ Oodua Sagamu) he prayed and wish him the very best in his service to his community and the entire Yoruba land.

The newly inaugurated Coordinator (Aṣoju ọdọ Oodua Sagamu), Omoluabi Ashaye AbdulRasaq Adekunle in his speech said, “I am honored and humbled by your presence and by the generous words of the speakers who have preceded me this morning. I am grateful for the work of the inauguration planning committee and the many individuals who contributed to this event”

“The Yoruba race is the best in this world and am proud that Omo Yoruba ni mii.” 

He congratulated the Omoluabi Awardees from Sagamu. The Awardees are; Omoluabi Ashaye AbdulRasaq Adekunle, Omoluabi Adetokunbo Soluade, Omoluabi Damilare James Fasasi, Omoluabi Bidemi Solarin, Omoluabi Saheed Olalekan Oloko and Omoluabi Hammed Sunmola. 

“Also, my gratitude goes to the State Executive led by Hon. Sunday Adebowale and the powerful State Scribe (Amb Ajibode Abdulkabir). I will never forget to mention the Arole Odo of Yoruba Kingdom (Aare Bar. Oladotun Hassan Esq.”

He further appreciated all personalities who contributed and supported to make the ceremony a Success. Appreciation goes to the following; Hon. Olanrewaju Michael George, Hon. Ajetunmobi Habeeb, Dr. Abayomi Ojekunle, Sagamu LG Transition Chairman Hon. Gbenga Baruwa ably represented by Comr Kalejaiye Adeyemi, Prince Kolapo Alaba Adenuga (SLG, Sagamu LG), Egbe Akomolede Yoruba ati Asa L’agbaye, and everyone too numerous to mention who took their time to attend this ceremony, Oodua Agbe Gbogbo Wa ooo.
