Yabatech gets acting rector

The Chairman of the Board of Governors, Yaba College of Technology, Lateef Fagbemi SAN, has approved the appointment of Uduak Inyang-Udoh as Acting Rector of the institution effective Monday, January 30, 2023.

According to the statement of the institution’s deputy clerk/head of public relations, Joe Ejiofor, the appointment will remain in effect until the appointment of a substantive rector.

He said that Inyang-Udoh, a senior lecturer in the quantity research department, was the deputy principal (administration) until this appointment.

He added that Inyang-Udoh’s other previous positions included the director, Yabatech Consult, director, academic planning, dean, school of environmental studies and head of the quantity research department.

The Nigeria News Agency reports that the term of office of the incumbent rector, Mr. Obafemi Omokungbe, ended at midnight on January 29, 2023.

Meanwhile, Ejiofor noted that at its meeting of November 25, 2022, the board of directors had made a recommendation for the appointment of a new rector to the competent authority.

He said that the board of directors had not yet received a response on this point.
