A well known traditionalist and Oluaye, Oba Ogboni, Agbaye Awise, Iwase of yoruba land, Aree Isegun of Ijesa land, Dr. Adetoyese Abudul Olabisan have assured Yoruba-speaking people that traditionalists in the country would ensure that their lives and territories are protected from terrorist attacks from every angle.

Oba Ogboni, noting that hatred among the Yorubas greatly contributed to the invasion of the enemies into their territories in a speech received by our reporter last weekend, instructed them to be united and formidable to face all situations.

He argued that if love reigns among them, they will not allow enemies to enter their midst, without talking about conspiring with enemies without committing evil deeds such as kidnapping and other nefarious activities in their various domains.

The venerable icon of the Ogboni brotherhood, who gave this assurance when speaking to reporters about his annual oblation and propitiating the Yoruba gods and goddesses on the celebration of “Odun Ile” for the protection of the tribe, left hinting that all members of the Ogboni brotherhood work seriously to ensure the safety of their tribe from the hands of evil perpetrators.

According to him, “God is the father and the country is the mother, we take the power of blessing from the country to bless the people from federal to state and individual city levels, we pray for more blessing, this year will be the 29th year of doing this festival because the festival works out yearly.”

“On this day, we worship Esu, Egba, Ajobi to seek blessings from them and appeal to them for protection, peace and security of the land.”

We have noticed that greed has taken over the world and things are changing for the worse. That is why the brotherhood group is trying to make sure that things get to the right place in the right place and that our society is freed from inhuman acts.”

“Although we have done this atonement in secret in the past, and that is why peace and harmony are being established in our communities in Yoruba land, and seeing the positive effects, we are now making it known publicly and encouraging young people to join us in achieving collective success in this direction.”

What Ogboni wants is equality, fairness, unity, peace, love and harmony. We disapprove of segregation, disharmony, tribalism, sectionalism, war, chaos and other forms of bitterness that can cause disintegration in our abodes. But if unwanted acts eventually take place, we will face it by mediating peace among embittered persons, because our strength is to help each other progress, not to fight or cause trouble.

While emphasizing that the presidential election will be like Chief Moshood Abiola’s election in 1993 because they made so many sacrifices to ensure peace before, during and after the exercise, he affirmed that the person who should command the country’s ship would be the least expected to rule, and there would be none
neither fighting nor chaos during the period.

Dr. Adetoyese further accused the government of not treating security issues lightly and asked for the involvement of traditionalists to address the uncertainties facing the country.
