Peaceful demonstrations were held in several US cities to protest the brutal beating of a black motorist who died in hospital three days after being detained by police in Memphis, Tennessee.
Video footage of the incident showed several officers beating 29-year-old Tire Nichols for three minutes and then not providing him with medical attention.
Five police officers have been fired and charged with murder. All five officers are black, as is Mr. Nichols.
