TRIBUTE TO OMOMEEWA: A BURNING CANDLE HAS BEEN QUENCHED.-VOICE OF OLAIDE OLAD

When I heard about the news of Yusuf Nurudeen Omomeewa death yesterday, I couldn’t comment because I was thinking it was a prank, I quickly picked my phone to checked my calendar if yesterday was April fool (April is), no it was not, I also check myself if I was dreaming, no again, well I said I must be hallucinating, I slept and I woke up early this morning, I quickly picked my phone again to check about updates and I discovered that Omomewaa has been murder by the ‘Opressor’. 

Why did our leaders always kill our future liberators/leaders?

Why did our leaders always suppress the voice of the masses?

Why did our leaders always want to have their way by force? 

Omomewa is a vibrant and dogged fighter, who dedicated his life for the emancipation of mankind, he fought tirelessly against all LASU anti-students policies, he was always at the front line during movements and he never compromised.

But the school management were not pleased with all this, they went ahead to victimised him, withhold his certificate after graduation and continue to invite him to an endless panel, it was during when he was honouring one of the endless panel that he was shot dead by unknown gunmen infront of LASU, school gate. 

Omomewaa, you are such a great comrade, I remember all our conversation, all the plans you have in life, you just got married this year, gave birth this year and die this year, I remember when you challenged me for not attending your son naming ceremony and I promise to visit the family one day. 

Am dumbfounded writing this, because we will surely miss you, the Democratic Socialist Movemnent (DSM), Education Right Campaign (ERC), Socialist party of Nigeria (SPN) And all comrades will surely miss you. 

Your Son will ask your wife one day and Say, Where is my Daddy? And who kill my Daddy? 

I will never join others to say may your soul rest in peace, because I know you are a fighter, I will rather invoke your spirit and say may your spirit continue to hunt your killer, and may your blood avenge for you. 

Join me to sing “Opressor Opressor Opressor, Na him kill Omomewaa, they kill Afrika, they kill Omomewaa Opressor Opressor ooo”

Rise and fight and we your comrade will also stand and demand for justice.

LASU Management where is Comrade Omomewaa?
