Tinubu’s endless blunders sign of ill health – Atiku’s assistant
“Aso Rock is neither a sanatorium nor a psychiatric institution”
Phrank Shaibu, one of the aides of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar, has lashed out at All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate Bola Tinubu after his endless blunders during the 2023 election campaign.
The APC flag bearer made some controversial remarks during his latest campaign in Akwa Ibom, where he claimed to have made Atiku Senate President.
“They have no mandate; what they have after ice cream. E melts quickly. You gave me their yeye people… Atiku, if we become Senate President, haba! You sell this, you sell that property, our common wealth… everything we have,” he said.
In a counter-attack, Shaibu said Tinubu’s “ongoing blunders began as a comic relief, but are slowly becoming a tragedy, an embarrassment to Nigeria”.
“Since Tinubu declared his intention to participate, he has publicly made more than 20 blunders. These blunders, which creators of online skits have provided with comedic content, are no longer a laughing stock, but a tragic embarrassment to a nation in dire need of rescue.
“At his last meeting in Akwa Ibom State, Tinubu said that he had made Atiku Abubakar the Senate Speaker, while Atiku is known to have never contested a legislative election before.
“I am bold to say that apart from his questionable background and records, Tinubu’s endless blunders and mistakes are a result of his poor health. His degenerated mental capacity is a clear and present threat to national security. A man who has no clear control over his mental faculties cannot lead a nation.
“But this wouldn’t be the first time the so-called Lagos godfather has put his ignorance on national display. A few months ago, he said he planned to recruit 50 million young people into the Nigerian army to solve the unemployment problem. Unfortunately, those within his circle gave him a standing ovation at the Kano event instead of correcting him.
He then called on Nigerians to start renewing their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) as they were set to expire before the election. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was forced to issue a statement quickly after Tinubu’s statement began to cause panic in the state system.
“Tinubu at his meeting in Lagos asked Nigerians for their APV to vote for APC, while even primary school children know that the PVC (Permanent Voter Card) is the only item that gives a voter access to a polling station.
“If Tinubu were competing for the position of Grand Comedian of the Federal Republic (GCFR), his gaffes would rightly be classified as pranks. But he’s running for the highest office in the land. Therefore, these blunders should not be overlooked.”
The Atiku’s aide believes that Tinubu is mentally unfit to become Nigeria’s next president, adding that “Aso Rock is neither a sanatorium nor a mental institution”.
“Nigerians should note that the Bola Tinubu who was governor from 1999 to 2007 is different from the Bola Tinubu of today. Today’s Bola Tinubu lacks the capacity to lead a nation of 200 million people, most of whom live in abject poverty.
“But unfortunately, it seems that Tinubu’s physical strength is actually superior to his mental capacity, given his numerous embarrassing statements. Last Christmas comedian Sabinus based his entire stage performance on Tinubu’s many blunders. The crowd that had gathered almost rolled on the floor.
“At first glance this may be funny, but when you consider that Tinubu is the candidate of the ruling party, it becomes all the more tragic. Tinubu’s handlers are aware of his declining mental capacity, hence their refusal to allow him to attend debates or live interviews.
“However, it should be noted that Aso Rock is neither a sanitarium nor a psychiatric facility. To that extent, Nigerians have the right to demand that any candidate for that office be in the best health condition.
“Tinubu does not believe in teamwork. He hides his shortcomings and mental inability. Nigerians should not be fooled by this charlatan who claims to have built Lagos from scratch but cannot debate simple economic policies without begging his henchmen to bail him out,” he said.
