The Eselu of Iselu Kingdom, Oba Akintunde Akinyemi, has hailed the Federal Government’s approval of the conversion of Federal Polytechnic, Ilaro into the Federal University of Technology, Ilaro (FUTI) as a groundbreaking move set to reshape the educational and developmental trajectory of Yewa Land and Ogun State at large.
Speaking with journalists shortly after the announcement by Senate President Godswill Akpabio during Wednesday’s plenary session, The Eaglesforesight gathered as Oba Akinyemi described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s decision as a bold affirmation of his administration’s dedication to educational advancement and youth empowerment.
“This upgrade is more than a name change; it is a transformative opportunity for our youths to access world-class technological education right here in Yewa,” the monarch stated.
Oba Akinyemi also expressed profound appreciation to Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, representing Ogun West, for his relentless advocacy that made the elevation of the institution a reality.
He noted that the establishment of FUTI will not only drive academic excellence but will also stimulate economic activities, attract investment, and create job opportunities in the region.
