THE STOOL OF ONITELE OF ITELE: OLOTA OF OTA AND HIS SERIKI SHOULD BE WARNED – ADOGUN ATELE ROYAL FAMILY OF ITELE

The attention of the all Ruling Houses under the supreme Royal family of Adogun Atele, right thinking sons and daughters of Awori most especially the good people of the ancient town of Itele Awori Kingdom have been drawn to the activities at the Ita Oba Fiesta held on the 21st of July, 2021 in which one Mr. Ademola Eletu Asorota was invited as the Special guest of honour.

I write as the counsel the to the legitimate Royal family of Itele to inform the general public that the Olota of Ota and his council of chiefs has been misinforming the public by referring to Mr Ademola Eletu Asorota as the Onitele of -Ele ti which is nothing but a slap and insult to the highly revered ancient stool of Itele-Awori Kingdom.

However, Let it be clearly stated to all that there has been a Judgement on Itele stool and the Supreme  Court of Nigeria vide its Judgement therein Sc/200/2003 in Arowolo vs Olowookere delivered on the 16th December, 2011 and the case was reported in (2012)NWLR PART 1278 that there are 4 Ruling Houses in Itele, Imidawo, Oosa, Ogunrounbi and Alagbeji of which Mr. Ademola Asorota does not belong by either virtue of birth of origin but Iseyin. He has been brought because of his personal friendly relationship with both Seriki of Ota and Olota of Ota. 

Again, I make boldly to say “Ademola is NOT Onitele of Itele-elect” and I reiterate that there are many cases in court over his eligibility to the stool of Onitele. 

Olota should not cause crisis in Itele. Several letters have been sent to the DSS and other law enforcement agencies about the sacrilegious attempt to impose Ademola Eletu Asorota by both Olota and the Seriki which if care is not taken might cause crisis amongst the both kingdoms. 

I therefore advise that the public should call Olota of Ota Oba Adeyemi Obalanlege and his Seriki in order to avoid unwanted crisis and disunity within the both Awori towns.

Members of Adogun Atele Royal family have been threatened severally with hidden calls over Onitele stool. Olota should leave Itele alone and let peace reign in Itele.

The four Ruling Houses mentioned by the Supreme court in the above referenced judgement are from Adogun Atele Family. Hence, Olota and Seriki are not above the law, and we already know all their plans with their stooge and the DSS is fully aware of everything.  

Members of the public should disregard their misinformation as same is figment of their wishful thinking.  It has never been in the history that any reigning Oba of Ota has ever choosen Oba for Itele and that is why Adogun Atele would never allow their history, customs and traditions be tampered with and will stop at nothing to always report any external forces/ individuals to the appropriate authorities with also taking legal steps to assert the supremacy of the supreme court on all individuals concerned. We do not want bloodshed or any form of crisis in our kingdom or any part of Awori towns.

Olota’s interference is not needed in Itele. Olota is the Oba of OTA and not Awori. One would have expected Olota to have adhere strictly to the rule of law by allowing the Supreme Judgment to prevail there rather than trying to impose Demola who’s from Iseyin on them because of his pecuniary interest and nothing more. 

Olota should give us the best leadership in OTA and leave Itele alone.  Look at the deplorable state of Ota road, Kabiyesi should channel his influence and connections towards repairing our roads and not to embark on a mission capable of ridiculing our highly revered stool of Ota. Any right thinking Awori who cherishes and appreciates the Ota stool would not advise Kabiyesi to be involved in the appointment of Oba in Itele.  Both Kabiyesi and Seriki know me very well and I know them. 

It doesn’t speak well of us as Awori to be reporting our Kabiyesi to the authorities especially DSS but since threat to lives is getting involved on daily basis and God forbid, if anything should happens to any of the key players in Itele stool struggles, reference would be made to the reported activities of the duo. Kabiyesi should be seen as promoting peace within Awori land not be seen as inciting crisis capable of leading to bloodshed or loss of lives. 

It has never happened in the history of olota that olota would be challenged in court. There are over 50 cases in courts at Ota and more are still coming. This is not what we want, Kabiyesi should lead by example in all positive actions that would bring peace within the Awori towns. Olota has no business in who becomes OBA of Itele.

We hereby call on the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs and the  Ogun State Government to come to our aide by doing the needful as all documents in backing the legitimacy of the rightful Royal family to the stool has been provided and defended, and the stool of Itele has been vacant for too long which has been affecting the progress, development and wellbeing of it’s people.
