THE HONOURABLE COMMISSIONER FOR YOUTH & SPORTS FLAGS OFF THE OGUN STATE NYSC HEALTH INITIATIVE FOR RURAL DWELLERS (HIRD) AT ISARA REMO 

It was obvious that the residents  of Isara Remo, in Remo North Local Government of Ogun State were joyous and ecstatic at the Flag Off of the Health Initiative for Rural Dwellers (HIRD) by the Ogun State NYSC.

The Sir Olaniwun Ajayi KJW Auditorium of the Isara Town Hall was filled to the brim with rural dwellers drawn from the entire Local Government Area on Tuesday 22nd June, 2021.

The scheme which aims at providing free medical services  for Rural Dwellers is an initiative of the Ogun State National Youth Service Scheme (NYSC).

There were several Health Talks by seasoned Health Practitioners from the Corps Medical Personnel and the Local Government Health Education Department.

Delivering his address at the event, the Honourable Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Dr. Oluwadare Kehinde (Hacco) commended the leadership of the State NYSC for the community based initiative. He said the health and wellbeing of the citizens of Ogun State is very paramount to His Excellency, Prince (Dr.) Dapo Abiodun MFR. He mentioned  that His Excellency has embarked on the renovation of Primary Health Care (PHCs) across the State in order to bring affordable Health Care Facility closer to the people. 

Notable amongst the dignitaries at the event were the Representative of the NYSC Director-General, the Representative of the Paramount Ruler of Isara, the Ogun State Coordinator of NYSC, Dr. Mrs. Belinda Faniyi, the Honourable Member representing the Constituency, Barrister Solomon Osho and Ogun State Corps Members. 

There were also free Blood Pressure and Blood Sugar Tests carried out on the rural dwellers. The second jab of the COVID-19 Vaccine was also given to interested residents of the Local Government.

The train of the HIRD Initiative will move to Ijoko Ota on Wednesday 23rd June, 2021 and at Odogbolu on Thursday 24th June, 2021.
