Lagos Democrat group held inaugural meeting at Lagos PDP secretariat.

The inaugural meeting of the Lagos Democrat Group that was held at PDP party secretariat in Lagos, as the opening prayers was said by Mrs Ogole

The state coordinator called for the introduction of the members and the state coordinator also gave a welcome address. While the National Coordinator, honourable Saheed Elegbede also gave an insight of the Democrats at the national level. 

“The State Coordinator talked about how Democrat will be accepted by Lagosians, Honourable Mrs. Lawson Funke gave the directions on how to invite non party members to the party, also Mr Adeniyi Alao gave his supports to back her points”.

“Mr shakiru Balogun said, seeing some leaders among the Lagos Democrat would likely add more value, he allegedly claimed that some PDP leaders in Lagos are traitors when it comes to decision making to promote the party. Several complains do come from the members, not wanting to associate with politics of selfish interests”.

“Our efforts might never give a productive results, most of these leaders do connote with the opposition in allowing the electoral body (INEC) to write the results and rig the election in Lagos because of token. We need to change people’s mindset from these bad acts, he also said people are tired of APC  government and the oppressed really need liberations from Lagos landlord’s den”.

“Hon Odunwagechi otherwise known as Peter fresh said, democrat should set up a movement that will not really be directly political. We should be very independent and also be sincere with people and ourselves, having ideas of how to mobilize people to the party should be our priority. Democrat should have a symposium in school and other places”. 

“While speaking, Hon. Okufuwa Samad mentioned about using all social media platforms to invite new members, most especially telegrams and others. the state coordinator also said been all active on social media can make such be achievable”.

 “Hon Tijani Kehinde said, Democrat Group should do away in engaging with anything about PDP activities in the movement and be totally independent for the moment, every member of Democrat should all be active in individual communities and tell the people that their votes will be counted on elections day.  It is their Civic right, let’s educate them to exercise it, if they don’t vote they will be robbed of their vote. We should start mobilizing polls agent against next elections”. 

“Using of Democrat Group slogans should be sounds and clear to people that we are unseating the ruling party, boycotting elections by PDP has always given our opposition to successfully manipulate results to rig themselves in other to rule over us. We need to reorientate the people out there about the importance of an election in our society.” Hon shodolamu Sunday said.

“The PDP National body should take note that Lagos is their stepping stone, they should make sure that at least one or two democrat member emerge at the state secretariat in this fourth coming Congress”.

The state coordinator mentioned that all members should have a unified identity card and the national coordinator have agreed to make it available for all.

“Mrs Ogole Mariam observed that some party agents are fonds of collecting money from oppositions, she suggested that all should be party faithful in various local governments. she also said any state executives that are not functioning should be replaced. 

“Mr shakiru Balogun said he is voluntarily going to draw and submit a template that can be used in his local government to mobilize people and also going to call for motivational speakers to speak with them in his local government and he knows that people will be glad to come and listen to them”.

“Hon Teniola Lukmon said, the group should adopt as many strategies that members can come up with, because we have seen it all in the just concluded Local government elections, how some people don’t have voters card but if Democrat Group can Mobilize to do the voters card for them, that will be an opportunity for us have them to join the democrat and the party.

“Hon. Shodolamu Sunday questioned the national coordinator on how the structure of Local government should look like. The national coordinator answered that, they should not involve any group in Local government structure”.

“In the closing remarks, the national coordinator thanks Mrs Lawson Funke and he said the strength of national body is Lagos democrat and for that, the leadership are using Lagos as stepping stone and he also said that anything national Secretariat of PDP is doing, democrat must be involved this time around”.

“Hon. Okufuwa Samad reportedly move a motion of adjournment that was seconded by hon Mrs Ogole Mariam”.
