SYA Joins Akarigbo, Umahi, Abiodun Other Stakeholders At Official Flag-Off Reconstruction Of Sagamu-Benin Expressway

The Sagamu Youth Association (SYA) under the leadership of Comrade Olugbenga Isiaka Lawal (Ambassador Easy) joined esteemed monarchs, political leaders, and community stakeholders at the official flag-off reconstruction ceremony of the Sagamu-Benin Expressway project. The event, hosted by the Governor of Ogun State, Prince Dapo Abiodun, saw the Honourable Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, leading the commencement of this crucial road project.

The ceremony was attended by key figures, including the revered Akarigbo and Paramount Ruler of Remo Land, Oba Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, who commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for prioritizing the reconstruction of the expressway. He used the occasion to request the construction of pedestrian bridges and overhead bridges at strategic locations along the highway to ensure the safety of road users and residents in communities along the route. Akarigbo also asked for quick implementation of a fire fighting station to be located at Sagamu interchange which was immediately approved by the government.

The Sagamu Youth Association expressed its gratitude for being part of this historic moment, recognizing the reconstruction flag off as a significant development that will benefit not only the residents of Sagamu but also countless Nigerians who travel this essential corridor daily.

Speaking at the event, the SYA leadership reaffirmed its commitment to supporting infrastructural progress that enhances economic growth and road safety. They emphasized that the successful completion of the project will ease transportation challenges, reduce accidents, and facilitate seamless movement of goods and services across the region.

The association also extended its appreciation to the Federal Government and Ogun State leadership for their dedication to improving road infrastructure, which directly impacts the lives and livelihoods of the people. The SYA remains optimistic that this project will be completed within the stipulated timeframe and serve as a testament to good governance and developmental progress in Nigeria.

As work begins on the expressway in two weeks time, the people of Sagamu and the entire Remo community look forward to a more accessible, safer, and better road network that will stand the test of time.
