Suspect Flees Over Alleged Homosexual Scandal In Ibadan

A woman identified as Mrs. Balikis Omolabake Kareem has reportedly fled the country following allegations of involvement in a homosexual scandal in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.
The Oyo State Police Command on Monday announced the arrest of one Olayemi Shukroh, who, during interrogation, named Mrs. Balikis Omolabake Kareem and several others, Adebambo Segilola, Sake Risikat, Akorede Sekinat, and Yinka Adewole as accomplices.
During a parade at the command headquarters, police spokespersons confirmed that multiple allegations of homosexual activity had been made against Mrs. Balikis Omolabake Kareem. The police declared her wanted and vowed to ensure she is brought to justice.

When our correspondent visited Mrs. Kareem’s residence in the ologunerun area of Ibadan on January 5, it was discovered that she had already left the country. However, her husband, who was met at the apartment, claimed he would reach out to her.
Sources also revealed that police operatives had visited the residence twice, accompanied by one of her friends, Shukroh, who was arrested alongside two other women.
In a related development, hoodlums reportedly broke into Mrs. Balikis Omolabake Kareem’s shop at gbagi market, Ibadan, days after the arrests. Goods worth millions of naira were carted away after news of her alleged involvement in the scandal spread.
As of the time of filing this report, efforts to locate Mrs. Balikis Omolabake Kareem have been unsuccessful. Meanwhile, the other arrested suspects remain in police custody and are expected to be arraigned in court next week.
