Stakeholders gather in Lagos for fair trade in agri-food

THE Nigerian agri-food and plastic printing pack industries meet again for the highlight of the year.

Organized by the German fair trade specialists, the 8th edition of agrofood & plastprintpack Nigeria will take place from 28 to 30 March 2023 at the Landmark Center in Lagos, Victoria Island.

Here, global technology leaders from 11 countries showcase customized technologies and solutions for the Nigerian and West African market in agriculture, food and beverage processing, ingredients, plastics, printing and packaging.?

The exhibitors come from Belgium, China, France, Germany, Italy, Korea, Nigeria, Taiwan, Turkey, Tunisia and Spain.

One of the traditional highlights at agrofood & plastiprintpack Nigeria is the German pavilion, this year 21 German exhibitors will be present. The German pavilion is presented by the German Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate and is supported by the German trade fair association AUMA and the German engineering federation VDMA.

In addition to the fair, another three-day top-level conference will take place. The main topics are beverage production and ingredients, supply chain evaluation, finance and others. C-level speakers representing market leading companies and institutions such as Diageo, First City Monument Bank, Access Bank, Sterling Bank, Bühler Group, Psaltry International, Simply Green, JR Africa, Niji Group, Conversations Africa, Farm Republic, … educational and entertaining sessions of the highest quality, promising direct benefits to the audience in their daily lives.

As with the previous events, a 3-day Packaging Masterclass will take place parallel to the fair. It is organized by the African Packaging Organization (APO), a member of the World Packaging Organization (WPO). The goal is to learn how companies can use food processing and packaging for retail through an Executive Certificate Course in Packaging Materials and Food Packaging Technology.

President of APO, Ahmed Alex Omah, said: “We are excited to partner with fair trade to deepen participants’ knowledge of packaging materials and food packaging technology. During the three-day program, experts will lead discussions on topics such as sustainable packaging innovations, the need for standardized production and processing methods, access to finance and much more.”

After the great cooperation for 2021 & 2022 event, fairtrade & OTACCWA, West Africa cold chain technological advancement organization agreed to host the 5th West African Cold Chain Summit & Exhibition WACCSE in addition to agrofood & plastprintpack Nigeria 2023 by organizing OTACCWA.

WACCSE is West Africa’s only cold chain event, the most valuable deep and comprehensive cold chain B2B networking event serving the pharmaceutical, perishable agricultural products, storage and distribution industries.
