Sowore Challenges Port Harcourt Prophet, Unueke, To Heal Stroke Patients In Hospital, Deadline Announced To Perform The Miracles Live

A dramatic showdown is brewing between human rights activist Omoyele Sowore and Prophet Umueke Miracle, the leader of Dynamic Flame of Fire and Miracle Ministries in Port Harcourt, over the authenticity of faith healings.

The clash began after Sowore dismissed claims of miraculous healings by Nigerian pastors, alleging that most are staged to exploit followers. Citing his personal experience, he claimed his father, who suffered a stroke, was taken to a church but experienced a “fake miracle.”

“I have never seen a church that made a cripple walk or a blind person see. These so-called miracles are lies. Religion thrives in Nigeria because of government failure. If we had good governance, people wouldn’t depend on prayers for survival,” Sowore said in a recent interview.

His remarks sparked outrage from Prophet Miracle, who labeled them an attack on Christianity and challenged Sowore to bring a verified stroke patient to his church for healing. The pastor boldly vowed to shut down his ministry if the patient was not healed but demanded that Sowore should, in turn, renounce his presidential ambition if the miracle occurred.

“If I pray and the person walks, let him (Sowore) never speak against miracles again. But if I fail, I will close my church until Jesus comes,” the prophet declared before his congregation.

In response, Sowore raised the stakes, insisting that Prophet Miracle should prove his healing powers by visiting the University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital (UPTH) and healing patients in the stroke ward.

“I have accepted the challenge. Let the prophet move his ministry to UPTH’s stroke ward and clear it out. Those patients are medically certified and urgently need healing. I will be watching his live stream tomorrow to publicize his healing prowess from that ward,” Sowore stated in a Facebook post.

As the April 4 deadline approaches, all eyes are on Prophet Miracle to see if he will take up Sowore’s counter-challenge. Meanwhile, efforts to get a response from the pastor have been met with silence, as a church member only said he was unavailable for comments.

With the highly anticipated showdown hanging in the balance, Nigerians are eager to see whether this will be a defining moment in the faith-versus-reason debate or just another heated exchange without action.
