S’Court confirms Aliero as Kebbi PDP Senate candidate

The Supreme Court of Nigeria has confirmed Senator Adamu Aliero as the People’s Democratic Party candidate for the Kebbi Central Senatorial District in the upcoming general election.

In a leading judgment by Judge Centus Nweze, read by Judge Amina Augie on Monday, the apex court ruled that Aliero’s appeal was upheld, stating that “the lower court’s ruling, which declared Saidu Haruna the winner of the Kebbi Central Senatorial Wijkprimair is hereby set aside.”

While four judges on the panel unanimously agreed with the ruling ruling, Judge Emmanuel Agim disagreed.

The verdict followed an appeal by Aliero against the decision of the Court of Appeal to annul his candidacy.
