Sagamu Youths Special Duties Office Celebrate Hon. Funmilayo Efuwape: A Beacon Of Hope And Leadership
The Sagamu Youth Association’s Directorate of Special Duties, led by Comrade Bashiru Hammed Adewale popularly known as Honourable Prince Lahbash, has honored Hon. Funmilayo Efuwape (FAECO), the current Commissioner for Special Duties & Intergovernmental Affairs, in celebration of her remarkable contributions to Sagamu, Ogun State, and the youth community at large.
The Directorate described Hon. Efuwape as an iconic leader whose dedication to the development of youths and her unwavering service to the community have earned her a place of distinction. Known for her compassion and advocacy, Hon. Efuwape has been an integral part of Sagamu’s progress, with her leadership leaving an indelible mark on the lives of many.
In his statement, Hon. Prince Lahbash praised her as a “true leader whose impact and contributions have been deeply felt not only by the youths but the entire Sagamu community and Ogun State as a whole.” He further highlighted her trailblazing journey from being the first female executive chairman of Sagamu Local Government to serving as the Commissioner for Women Affairs, and now, in her current role as Commissioner for Special Duties. Each step in her career has been marked by a strong commitment to public service and a focus on creating opportunities for the youth.
Her role as a “mother figure” to the youths, Prince Lahbash said, has been transformative. “You’ve perfectly played the role of a mother figure to the youths by embracing and making their dreams turn into reality,” he noted.
Under her guidance, the youths of Sagamu have found a champion for their aspirations, with Hon. Efuwape spearheading several initiatives aimed at youth empowerment, skills development, and social welfare.
The Directorate of Special Duties expressed immense joy in celebrating such an exemplary leader on her special day, wishing her a fruitful and prosperous year filled with “joy, ease, and opulence.”
