Sagamu Youth Association Facilitates Python Programming Training, Sponsored By Elepe, Oyeleke Oluwole
The Sagamu Youth Association (SYA) has in a move to empower the youths with digital skills, launched a Python programming training program under the leadership of Comrade Olugbenga Isiaka Lawal, popularly known as Ambassador Easy. The initiative is being sponsored by His Royal Highness, Oba Adewale Osiberu, the Elepe of Epe with 5 slots, and America-based Captain Oyeleke Folajuwon Oluwole with 15 slots.
The program which cost N69,600 for each participants, is aimed at equipping young people in Sagamu with coding and software development skills, marks a significant step toward digital literacy and economic empowerment in Ogun State. As technology continues to shape global economies, this initiative seeks to ensure that Sagamu youths are not left behind. Python, a versatile and widely used programming language, is expected to open doors for participants in areas such as data science, artificial intelligence, automation, and software engineering.
SYA President, Comrade Olugbenga Isiaka Lawal, expressed gratitude to the sponsors for their unwavering support of youth development. He emphasized the importance of technology-driven education in today’s world, stating that the initiative aligns with the association’s vision to promote skill acquisition and self-reliance among young people.
“This program is a game-changer for our youth. The world is moving fast, and digital skills like Python programming are the key to unlocking future job opportunities,” he said.
Oba Adewale Osiberu, the Elepe of Epe, highlighted the critical role of education and technology in modern society when the executives of SYA met him. He noted that investing in youth development is one of the best ways to ensure the progress of any community. “Our young people must be equipped with the necessary tools to compete globally. I am pleased to support this initiative because it aligns with my commitment to the progress of Sagamu and Remoland,” he stated.

Captain Oyeleke Folajuwon Oluwole, a strong advocate for youth empowerment, emphasized the global demand for software developers and the importance of positioning young Nigerians for tech-driven careers. “The world is evolving rapidly, and digital skills are no longer optional; they are a necessity. This program is a step towards making Sagamu a hub for tech-savvy youth who can compete with their peers worldwide,” he remarked. Oyeleke sponsored 15 students while Elepe sponsored 5 students.
The training program has been well-received, with numerous young participants eager to learn Python and explore career opportunities in technology. Several beneficiaries expressed their excitement, noting that such an opportunity would have been difficult to access without SYA’s intervention. One of the trainees, Comrade Bashiru Hammed Adewale popularly known as Prince Lahbash, described the program as a “life-changing experience”, stating that he now sees a clear pathway to a tech career.
As the training progresses, SYA has hinted at possible expansions, including advanced courses, hackathons, and internship opportunities for outstanding participants.
The association also encourages other well-meaning individuals and organizations to support initiatives that foster digital skills and youth empowerment. With this bold step, Sagamu is steadily positioning itself as a rising tech hub in Ogun State, giving its youth the tools to thrive in a competitive digital economy.
