SAGAMU YOUTH ASSOCIATION EXECUTIVE PAYS A FAMILIARIZATION AND FACT FINDING VISIT TO GATEWAY POLYTECHNIC MANAGEMENT

In line with Sagamu Youth Association outlined programs to begin to engage all stakeholders and necessary quarters on major ways to advance and promote our community while seeking for best hand and ways to implement our laid-out agenda.

As a concerned stakeholder whose priority is to collectively advance and promote the interest of our community and extension, without any biased mind, while also prioritizing unity among all living within Sagamu and its Environ. We started by introducing the executive and also appreciating the level of tranquility in the tertiary institution serenity, while also acknowledging the level of infrastructural uplift hence his emergence to the campus, quite astonishing we retreat.
We further ask the Rector, Dr Isaiah Kolawole Oyeyinka for clarity on the allege issue of sectionalism and tribalism which has purportedly resulted to Marginalization of remonians from the top echelon of employment. The Rector Dr. Isaiah Kolawole Oyeyinka Appreciated the visitation and the resolve to seek for clarity despite the level of social disruption and disunity Social Media and fake News has caused this Nation in recent time.

The Rector Dr Isaiah Kolawole Oyeyinka took us down memory lane when he was appointed as rector in 2014 and met the School as a glorified Secondary School, which had less than 900 Student as the Entire population of Student in school, he further explain to us how the journey resulted into what we have today as a citadel where all is willing to come and study across the Nation, he emphatically stress that the highest number of Remonians , staff and non-teaching staff working in the school today, got employed when he came onboard, while urging us to kindly ask those behind this fake news to denounce this fact as he frown at the ways and manner individuals who feel aggrieved about a situation or something begin to use divisive and ethnic base issue to seek redress which in Nigeria today is most sensitive issue as the country is still battling to curtail it menace.
Dr Isaiah Kolawole Oyeyinka further urge us to ask those spreading this fake news if he ever owed them any dues and allowances due to them, nor if he ever infringes on their privileges within and outside Academics, if non then why playing the ethnic game when he has chosen to get rid of unprofessional practices within the citadel while maintaining principles and ideas that will accord first in all sphere to the institution. He also emphasized on his commitment to archiving a set target of upgrading the citadel to a university in the nearest future while seeking our support to make this happen as playing ethnic game will never encourage foreigners across the nation to come in to school.
In response to the Rector we urge him to kindly look into this sensitive issues and find a lasting common ground to resolve all aggrieved and also urge him to embrace meritocracy above all, as education is the bedrock to nation building and advancement while citing examples of the doom that await us if we do not subscribe and maintain meritocracy above any factors to consider, we also requested for the support and urge that the leadership of the citadel to kindly look inward for future recruitment as Remo is full of intellectual graduate with a well qualified grade to take on the lecturing job, in corroborating the Rector, Mr Oladapo Solaru appreciated the mode of engagement, he further disclosed that he’s also a Remonian from ilishan, and it hurt to see such fake news being peddled while associating it with remo as against the truth and the real intent of the fake news peddler, he concluded by charging us to help bridge the gap of misinformation and keep projecting our environs as a place for all to thrive. Mr J.O Popoola the Registrar explain in fact and figure the numbers of employees and students in respect to recruitment and admission process while urging us to disregard any fake news has the school under the leadership. 
Mr. T.K Ogunyinka, Director Academic Planning Unit, express a profound gratitude to the Rector Dr Isaiah Kolawole Oyeyinka for the unprecedented level of development this institution has experienced and for also quenching his deepest fear about actualizing the level which the school is in today, he further charge the executive to keep being the best ambassador and representation of the larger youth interest like today outing which shows some level of disciplined and exemplary youth leaders from this community.
In our closing remark we urge the rector to keep to meritocracy being our identity. And also put out a signage with inscription, SAY NO TO TRIBALISM.
