Sagamu Set To Host 2nd Edition Grand Peace Carnival, To Unite Youths And Celebrate Ileya In Style

The ancient city of Sagamu is once again poised to come alive with vibrant energy, cultural pride, and youthful exuberance as the Sagamu Peace Agenda Forum (SPAF) under the Chairmanship of Labi Allison, prepares to host the highly anticipated 2025 Sagamu Peace Carnival Anniversary. The event, which spans two days around the Ileya celebration, is designed to promote peace, unity, and progressive youth engagement within the community.
The carnival opens on the day before Ileya, Thursday 5th of June 2025 with an Endurance Trek aimed at inspiring a spirit of togetherness and resilience. The trek begins promptly at 7:00 AM, with participants converging at Coca-Cola Junction and walking through major streets in Sagamu. More than a fitness activity, the trek symbolizes solidarity and shared commitment to peace, with participants encouraged to wear white as a representation of harmony and hope.
In the afternoon of the same day, the excitement continues with a thrilling novelty football match between Sagamu Youth Association (SYA) and SPAF, scheduled for 3:00 PM at the Sagamu High School Field. The match is expected to attract a large crowd of supporters and community members, providing a platform for friendly competition, entertainment, and sportsmanship. As two respected youth-oriented bodies go head-to-head, the event promises to deepen bonds among young people while celebrating local talent.
The grand finale of the carnival is slated for the day after Ileya Saturday 7th of June 2025, as the spotlight turns to Ita-Oba Road, directly in front of the Akarigbo Palace. Beginning at 8:00 PM sharp, the main event will feature an electrifying mix of cultural performances, live music, comedy, and artistic displays. This vibrant night event aims to fuse entertainment with a powerful message of peace, offering residents and visitors alike a memorable post-Ileya experience under the stars.
