Sagamu PDP Youth Wing Holds Inaugural Meeting, Sets Mobilization Agenda To Win Elections

As part of strategic moves to strengthen its grassroots structure and empower the next generation of political leaders, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Sagamu Local Government has officially inaugurated its Youth Wing under the dynamic leadership of Comrade Kehinde Dumiye popularly known as Kwato. The maiden general meeting, held today Thursday 10th of April, 2025, brought together enthusiastic youth ambassadors from all wards and zones in the local government area, signaling a new era of political awakening and strategic planning among PDP youths.

The primary objective of the meeting, according to the organizers, was to set the tone for consistent youth mobilization across Sagamu Local Government, as the party looks ahead to reclaiming power at various levels in the forthcoming by-election and 2027 general elections even beyond. From the presidential to gubernatorial, National Assembly and State House of Assembly seats, the Sagamu PDP youth wing emphasized its commitment to playing a leading role in ensuring total victory for the party.

Discussions at the meeting centered on grassroots sensitization, voter education, and mobilization of new members—particularly young people with Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs).

Hon. Muibi Abdulateef, fondly known as Abana, in his address, urged the youth delegates to be proactive ambassadors within their respective wards. He stressed the importance of unity, loyalty, and continuous political engagement, saying, “Youths must remain visible and active in politics. Mobilize those with PVCs and encourage more to register. That’s how we bring victory closer to PDP at the polls.”

Adding her voice to the discourse, Alhaja Taye Kalejaye charged the female youth delegates to intensify their involvement in politics and rally behind the party’s mission. She called for increased female (youths in particular) participation and support for all PDP candidates, while also encouraging the women to inspire other young ladies to take interest in political leadership roles.

One of the critical points highlighted at the meeting was the importance of rallying massive support for Honourable Oladipupo Adebutu, the party’s leading gubernatorial figure in Ogun State.

The youth leaders reiterated that with coordinated efforts and aggressive mobilization strategies, PDP stands a stronger chance of securing the governorship seat for Hon. Adebutu in the next election cycle. They described Adebutu as a unifying force whose development agenda aligns with the aspirations of the youth and the larger Ogun populace.

Comrade Akins, while giving his remarks, commended Comrade Kehinde Dumiye for his excellent organization and the large turnout witnessed at the meeting. He urged all attendees to stay committed to the cause and support the party’s youth leader in Sagamu in achieving set goals.

“Let’s ease the burden on our youth leader by working hand-in-hand. Together, we can reclaim our place and deliver victory for PDP across all election levels,” he stated. The meeting closed with renewed energy and a shared sense of purpose among the youth delegates as they begin the journey toward 2027 with hope and determination.
