Sagamu Local Government has in a bold step towards inclusive governance and efficient resource management, held its 2025 Budget Retreat, bringing together top directors and executive cabinet members to deliberate on the draft fiscal proposal. The retreat, which featured in-depth presentations and critical reviews, was spearheaded by the Department of Budget, Planning, Research, and Statistics, under the coordination of Mrs. Akinbamisile A.O.

The forum provided an opportunity for departmental heads to engage in constructive dialogue around the proposed budget framework, with an emphasis on increasing internally generated revenue and optimizing project execution. Discussions centered on identifying new revenue channels, closing existing financial gaps, and aligning strategic priorities with community development goals.

Alhaji Balogun Akeem, the Head of Local Government Administration (HOLGA), charged departments to look inward and harness untapped revenue potential within their operational scopes. He noted that innovation and accountability at departmental levels are essential to expanding the LG’s fiscal base and achieving set targets.
