Sagamu LG Chairman, Ogbeni Odulate, Charges Muslims On Spiritual Growth At 13th Ramadan Public Lecture

The Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Odulate Jubril Olasile, has urged Muslims to embrace spiritual growth, self-improvement, and community unity as he addressed the 13th Annual Ramadan Public Lecture organized by the Sagamu Local Government Staff Muslim Community on Tuesday, March 12, 2025.

Speaking at the event, Ogbeni Odulate expressed gratitude to Almighty Allah for the privilege of witnessing another Ramadan season, describing it as a period of mercy, forgiveness, and divine blessings. He also extended heartfelt salutations to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and commended the dedication of Islamic clerics, particularly the guest lecturer, for sharing divine wisdom with the audience.

The Chairman emphasized the significance of faith-based principles in governance and personal development, urging attendees to uphold the teachings of Islam in their daily lives. He highlighted the essence of Ramadan as a time for fasting, charity, and strengthening family ties, reinforcing its role in fostering moral discipline and communal harmony.

“Ramadan is not just about abstaining from food and drink; it is a period for deep reflection, self-discipline, and devotion to Allah. We must all strive to follow the doctrine and principles of Islam to better our lives and society,” Odulate stated.

The lecture, themed “Time Factor – Islamic Perspective,” focused on the Islamic view of time management and the importance of utilizing time effectively for worship, productivity, and righteous deeds. The Chairman expressed confidence that the guest lecturer would provide invaluable insights on the topic

In his closing remarks, Ogbeni Odulate congratulated the award recipients, urging them to see the honor as a clarion call to serve Allah and humanity with greater commitment. He prayed for Allah’s blessings on all attendees, stating, “May Almighty Allah accept our good deeds as acts of Ibadah and reward us both in this life and the hereafter.”

The event was graced by top government officials, religious scholars, community leaders, and members of the Sagamu Local Government Staff Muslim Community.
