Sagamu LG Chairman Odulate Hails 65 Years of Nigeria’s Unity, Calls for Renewed Commitment

As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary, the Executive Chairman of Sagamu Local Government, Ogbeni Jubril Olasile Odulate, has urged Nigerians to uphold the spirit of togetherness, describing national unity as the country’s greatest strength.
In his goodwill message to commemorate the occasion, Odulate noted that the nation’s journey since 1960 has been defined by the resilience and sacrifices of past heroes who never wavered in their pursuit of nationhood.
“Sixty-five years is more than a number; it is a story of courage and hope. The sacrifices of our founding fathers laid the foundation for the peace and freedom we enjoy today, and they continue to renew our hope for a greater Nigeria,” he said.

The council boss called on residents of Sagamu, Ogun State, and Nigerians across the globe to embrace diversity as a unifying factor rather than a dividing line. According to him, the celebration should serve as a reminder for citizens to play their individual roles with sincerity while promoting hard work, integrity, and patriotism among the younger generation.
On behalf of the government and people of Sagamu Local Government, Odulate congratulated Nigerians both at home and abroad, praying for the nation’s continuous growth in peace, prosperity, and unity.
“May the labour of our heroes past never be in vain, and may Nigeria continue to flourish,” he added.
