Remo Bye-Election: Oyeleke Oluwole, Ajetunmobi Secure Ward 7 Victory For APC’s Elegbeji

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has continued to demonstrate its political strength in Ogun State, with Captain Folajuwon Oyeleke Oluwole and Hon. Habeeb Ajetunmobi, both Senior Special Assistants to Governor Dapo Abiodun, successfully delivering Ward 7 with Apc 1,172 total votes and PDP 388. The victory is in support of the APC party’s candidate, Honourable Adesola Ayoola Elegbeji, during the Remo Federal Constituency bye-election.
The decisive victory in Ward 7 further consolidates APC’s recent dominance in the Remo axis, positioning the party ahead of its rivals in the battle to retain control of the federal constituency. The bye-election, which has attracted widespread attention, followed the unfortunate demise of Hon. Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga (Ijaya), who previously represented the area.
Addressing party supporters after the announcement of results, Captain Oyeleke described the outcome as a product of thorough planning and grassroots mobilisation. He emphasised that the win was not accidental but a reflection of the collective effort of party stakeholders in ensuring APC’s victory from the ward level to the larger constituency.
“This is a landslide victory at the polls. We were well prepared at the grassroots level to mobilize and ensure to deliver and win, not just in the ward but across local governments,” Oyeleke stated confidently.
In a separate address, Hon. Habeeb Ajetunmobi hailed the victory as evidence that the APC remains firmly in charge of Ogun politics. He stressed that the result was not only a vote of confidence in the ruling party but also a reaffirmation of the people’s trust in Governor Dapo Abiodun’s leadership.

“This triumph is a testament that APC is fully in charge of the state, and Remo Federal Constituency is an APC stronghold hence. The people have once again shown their unwavering support for our party,” Ajetunmobi declared.
Observers note that the delivery of Ward 7 is particularly significant, as it is considered one of the most politically active and competitive areas within the constituency. Securing the ward for the APC candidate underscores the effectiveness of the governor’s loyalists in mobilising voters and countering opposition advances.
With results from other wards expected to follow, political analysts say the Ward 7 victory provides a morale boost for the APC, while also sending a strong message to the opposition about the ruling party’s recent deep-rooted influence in Remo politics.
The bye-election is being keenly monitored, not only for its outcome but also for what it signifies ahead of future contests in Ogun State, as APC continues to project itself as the dominant political force in the region.
