Remo Agogs As RIDSCo/RemoGDF Lays Foundation Of Federal Fire Service Station At Sagamu Interchange

An avalanche of credits crammed Sagamu Interchange residents as RIDSCo and RemoGDF collaborate to lay foundation stone for Federal Fire Service Station at Sagamu Interchange. The ground breaking ceremony which was performed by HRM, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi, BL, LLM, FCA, FBR, Torungbuwa II, Akarigbo and Paramount ruler of Remo Kingdom.

 

The project which was sited at one of the fasted growing business corridors in Nigeria has six First Class Royal Fathers in attendance. They are Elepe of Epe, Ewusi of Makun, Alaperu of Iperu, Onirolu of Irolu, Odofin of Sonyindo and Onipara of Ipara.

 

In his welcome address, the Chairman of RemoGDF, Otunba Tunji Lawal-Solarin described the Sagamu Interchange that hosts this project as the fastest-growing industrial hub and corridor, not only in Ogun State but in Nigeria.”

 

He said; the interchange is a commanding location: to the North, towards Ibadan; to the South, towards Lagos; to the East, towards Benin City, Edo State; to the West, towards Abeokuta and Benin Republic. No location in the country has the modal commanding advantage of Sagamu Interchange.

 

Interchange has become the first destination of choice for multinational organizations and local industrial concern. In the last seven years, over 25 blue-chip companies have set up manufacturing activities I the interchange, he asserted.

 

HRM, Alayeluwa Oba (Dr) Babatunde Adewale Ajayi stated clearly that; the location of this Fire Service Station is best place to serve the growing number of industries and the rest of the community including travellers who might be caught in accidental Fire incident. ′We must not underscore the fact that the location is not only to serve the industries, but equally most important the whole of Remo division and even the towns and Communities outside Remo.’

In his brief statement at the event, Engr. K.K. Ajasa, the Assistant Controller General for Zone F comprising of Lagos, Ogun and Oyo states assured the people of Remo of unflinching support from the Service for the project. He was assisted to the ceremony by the two State Controllers of Ogun and Oyo States respectively.

 

Setting of the foundation was performed by HRM Oba Adewale Ajayi Babatunde, in the presence of the officials of the Federal Fire Service, dignitaries, companies representatives and well wishers.

 

The Chairman of RIDSCo, Olootu Omoba M.O. Oyedele appealed to the Federal Government through the Ministry of Works and Housing to release all the loops on Lagos/Sagamu/Ibadan expressway to some of our Armed Agencies for developmental purposes. He said the loops on the expressway which he claimed were haven for criminal and hoodlums to perpetrate their nefarious activities, would have been secured while the present insecurity ravaging the entire nation would have been reduced to the barest minimum. He also informed the gathering of the Police Secondary School at Oke-Ibu under construction and the two new hostels being personally funded by HRM Akarigbo at Federal Government Girls College and NYSC Orientation Camp, Sagamu 

 

HRM Akarigbo specially commended Olootu Oyedele for his numerous roles towards the development and growth of Remo Land. The monarch stated that as young man, he is finding it hard to cope with the pace of Olootu. He prayed for robust health for him and Asiwaju S.K. Onafowokan, Chairman of Coleman Technical Industries Limited who was also present at the occasion.

Others at the event are the co-Chairman of RemoGDF, Aare Kola Oyefeso, Wole Awe and the COO of RemoGDF, Mrs Yemisi Oduwole.

 

Engr Adebayo Osiberu, Otunba Segun Onabolu and the President and Secretary of Sagamu Development Association, Hon Adeyiga T. Awoyemi and Com Adekunle Bello respectively while Comrade Aduroja (NYCN Sagamu Coordinator) and also a representative of Sagamu Youth Association, the Admin Manager, Mr Lukman Banjoko, represented RIDSCo at the event.

 

Ezekiel Obasanya led the team from Lafarge, Olayemi Kumoye and Sanya Bernard came from Nestlé while Mrs Peace Okenkwa and Alhaji Nurudeen Adekunle were from Olam Nigeria Limited.

Royalty surpassed the core laying as His Royal Majesty, Oba Babatunde Àjàyí Adewale, the Akarigbo and paramount ruler of Remo Kingdom appeared in enormous distinction, communicating joy indescribable, raining imperial blessings on the enviable Federal Fire Service representatives and other distinguished dignitaries across Remo.
