Nothing is more frustrating than charging your phone for hours only to use it for a few minutes. You must have wondered why your battery runs out so quickly and then you have to recharge it with a power bank or power supply.

It is better to figure out the possible reasons why your phone battery drains so quickly. This is because frequent charging damages the battery or your smartphone.

Below are the possible reasons why your smartphone battery drains quickly:

1. Run background apps

You will be surprised to learn that many applications run secretly whether you are using your phone or not. These apps running in the background secretly consume more power, and this drains your battery in the long run.

Background apps work even if you don’t play or use a question on it. For Android or iOS users, these apps can be your calendar, WhatsApp antivirus, health or VPN applications.

To disable these applications, go to ‘settings’, click ‘device maintenance’ and then ‘battery’.

You will discover the applications that drained your battery. To disable them, click on each app and put it to sleep or click disable.

2. The brightness of your screen

Nothing drains your battery more than your brightness. This is your phone’s fast draining battery feature. Many people enjoy it when their phone is at its brightest, but they don’t realize that their battery is draining faster.

To prevent your smartphone battery from draining quickly, keep your brightness to a minimum to save your battery. You can adjust your phone’s settings to suit your brightness.

This setting will help your phone reduce brightness when it’s not needed and increase brightness when it’s needed. Follow the following procedures to adjust this automatically:

Click Settings

Then click on display or brightness

Enable “adaptive brightness”.

For those with poor eye function, you can enable dark mode. This saves more battery life than you could ever imagine.

3. Active data usage

Using your phone for different things 24 hours a day and even at night will drain your battery faster. Most people leave their data on to receive urgent notifications during the day. The more notifications you receive, the less battery life you have.

Active data usage, regular phone calls, hotspot connections, Wi-Fi and other things that keep your phone busy use more power.

4. Location or map apps

Using location tracking apps like Google Maps works indirectly even without accessing them directly. They constantly track your movement and location.

However, this has a huge effect on your battery as it consumes more power. To avoid this, you can deactivate the apps or disable your location.

Try out the tips above and enjoy the battery of your smartphone longer than before.
