As the local government elections approach in Ogun State, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Sagamu has concluded its campaign activities with a vibrant rally spanning across Wards 3, 4, and 5, rallying members and residents alike, while the party is expecting to welcome Honourable Adebutu Oladipupo to Sagamu at Akarigbo palace tomorrow Wednesday.

The campaign, organized by influential party figures like Omooba Damilare Muhammad Bello and Asiwaju Bola Oluwole, aimed to energize PDP supporters and emphasize the party’s commitment to delivering transformative governance. The rally sets the stage for what party leaders are calling the “grand finale” in Sagamu.

The event kicked off with an opening speech by Comrade Dumiye Kehinde, also known as “Kwato,” the youth leader of the PDP in Sagamu Local Government. In his address, Kehinde warmly acknowledged the role of party leaders in supporting and sustaining the PDP in Sagamu. He expressed deep gratitude to the people of Ward Four, which happens to be his own ward, for their steadfast support and cooperation with PDP’s agenda. He praised the dedication of local supporters and urged them to remain resolute in their commitment to PDP’s success.

Prominent PDP figure Balogun Adewale Oshidero, affectionately called “Baba Sealed,” urged voters in Ward Four to unite in order to oust what he described as the “ineffective” APC government in the local area. Oshidero was joined by Hon. Abana, who encouraged the residents of Olodo and the entire Ward Four to recall the positive changes brought about by the PDP in previous administrations. “These projects stand as proof of what PDP has accomplished and why it deserves another chance,” Abana stressed.

Hon. Damilare Muhammad Bello, popularly known as “DRE,” delivered a passionate speech, likening PDP supporters to “combat-ready soldiers” who are prepared to safeguard democracy in Sagamu. Bello made it clear that the PDP is the only party with a clear agenda focused on the welfare of Sagamu residents and Ogun State as a whole. His words were met with cheers, signaling a high level of enthusiasm and readiness for election day among the gathered crowd.

The PDP Chairman for Sagamu Local Government, Deacon Dauda Adeyemi, also known as “Double D,” rallied the party members by outlining the importance of a full turnout for PDP candidates.

He underscored the party’s commitment to good governance and urged members to support PDP representatives in each ward, including the flag bearer for Ward Four, Mrs. Adeogun Olabisi Abake, popularly called “Ile Alayo.” The presentation of the PDP flag to Mrs. Abake symbolized the party’s endorsement of her leadership, as she vowed to bring “good and equitable governance” to Sagamu.
