Osun Tribunal: Folarin Applauds Judgment, Congratulates Oyetola, APC

Senator Teslim Folarin, candidate for the 2023 governorship of the All Progress Congress (APC) of Oyo State, has applauded the Election Petition ruling and confirmed Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola as the valid winner of the 2022 gubernatorial election of Osun State.

The Election Commission, chaired by Judge Tertse Kume, dismissed Osun Governor Senator Ademola Adeleke on Friday.

The majority verdict of two judges against one ordered that Adeleke’s certificate of return be revoked and issued to Adegboyega Oyetola.

The tribunal fired Adeleke for overvoting at some polling stations in the state.

“After deducting the overvote mark, Oyetola scored 314,921 while Ademola collected 290,266,” the judge said.

The three-year lawmaker in his response to the verdict through his media assistant, Com. YSO Olaniyi described the Tribunal’s verdict as a victory for justice and called on all Osun APC members, supporters and even the people of Osun State to remain peaceful and not to respond to any provocation.

“The judgment is a triumph of truth and justice. The judiciary as a bastion of democracy and the rule of law is expected to have lived up to expectations”.

“God’s Will and the mandate of the good people of Osun have finally been confirmed by the Elections Tribunal. Therefore, I congratulate His Excellency Alhaji Isiaka Gboyega Oyetola, the APC family and the good people of Osun on the verdict,” concludes Folarin.
