Osun APC, PDP In Their Respective (“Woro si woro”) Tit For Tat

Woro si woro!, I know many people that will also seek for the meaning of this latest slang in town. Not even the Kabiyesi Onirisa, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi who is the supposed chief custodian of Yoruba language, arts, tradition and culture know the meaning.

He sought for the meaning recently when he played host to some certain youths from Modakeke in his Oduduwa palace at Ile Ife. The youths had gone there on a peaceful solidarity visit. During their meeting with the highly revered monarch a particular one among his guests said; “o ma di woro si woro niyen o Baba”.

A curious Ooni picked the now becoming famous slang from the young man’s statement and Baba openly asked his guests for the word meaning.

If you ask me I will tell you that that is wisdom on the part of the Ooni. The Alase Ekeji Orisa was never arrogant in his ignorance. He stoop low in his seeking for knowledge. Even when the young man that uttered the slang was not forthcoming with  explanation the Kabiyesi insisted and promised to see and engage the guy in a private discussion over the slang after their meeting.

Woro si Woro. Whether  His Majesty kept the appointment with the young man in this regard is what i may not know.

“What is woro ?” That Baba ria wanted to know the meaning was to everybody’s amazement. People present in the palace on the day laughed in appreciation of Kabiyesi’s curiosity and insatiable thirst for knowledge.

Woro si woro could simply mean; tit for tat. It could also perfectly translate to;  an eye for an eye.

Whereas, that has been the game situations within both the Osun APC and it’s PDP counterparts as at today.

In a way reminiscent to the days of;  “if you Takar me i will Dabor you”  the two parties have had their internal squabbles more dangerously escalated. It is to such that observers wondered if the INEC announcement which says twelve months separates us from the Osun gubernatorial election has any meaningful meaning to the two major party. People are asking if the announcement ever sunk into the seemingly block heads of the two parties.

Citizens said the both parties are behaving as if they have forever time on their side ahead of going to the polls in order to seek for the electorates approval of any of their parties above the others at the polls. They are behaving as if the electorates have no alternative whatsoever to them. They are both behaving as if it is automatic for the people to make their parties  the charge de affairs of the state for the next four years beginning from November 27, 2022.

Whereas, the APC will deploy suspension from the party as their harassment strategy  and cudgel to deal with any member no matter how strong and big such member may be but in so far the personality may be following Aregbesola he is a gonner.

Mr Kolapo Alimi, an ardent supporter of Aregbesola just got whipped with the party’s big stick. Although the party is said to have reversed the suspension in a letter signed by the their Legal Adviser, Chief Ogunsola some seventy two hours after the news went viral.

The Osun PDP in its own case appears too impatient in their waiting on the court to come and do the balance of damages which it voluntarily elect to seek from the court as such doing it by themselves. According to reports, at the senseless directive of a certain ill lettered leader of the party who is not educated enough to know and appreciate the positive effect of WhatsApp interaction among members of same party a war of removal from WhatsApp platforms of all members and leaders that are loyal to Adagunodo from all PDP platform triggered. Trust the Adagunodos too for their being also very good in any “woro si woro” fights.

In a quick retaliatory move they too removed every  leaders and elders removable especially those who are supporters of the  Adelekes from all WhatsApp their platforms.

What Woro si Woro could be more than when leaders and elders like Ademola Adeleke, his brother Dr Deji Adeleke, Madam Dupe Adeleke Sanni, Wale Oladipo, Gani Olaoluwa, Chief Ajeigbe, Akogun Lere Oyewunmi, Wole Oke, Sunday Bisi, Akanfe Atidade, Bola Ajao and a host of others too numerous to mention were not spared in the raging war of removal from PDP platforms .

Recall the Adagunodo Group, have been adjudged by the people as the one that parades the better, popular and vociferous voices on the social media for the party. The effect of the other group picking any woro si woro brawl with them could be too calamitous for the party as a whole.

However, in all of these the observers have said that it is the good people of Osun that will suffer the most when the two major parties APC, PDP eventually and finally disappointed them.

Akoni Oodua Ayeniromo…but who will help to remind this illiterate leader that modern politics transcend his local, archaic and senseless idea of ostracizing and separating youths of the party. Now and again like he did before he  has succeeded again in polirizing the party and to his greedy advantages.

Many says he was not always happy anytime the other leaders and elders are working and nearing a peaceful end solutions to the party crisis. He will always ensure that he throws a cog in the will of progress.

Suffice to round this  sermon up with this reminder which says; life is like a piano; the white keys represent happiness and the black show sadness. But as you go through life’s journey, remember that the black keys also create music. It takes the black keys and the white keys both, to make perfect harmony.

People, especially the youths in the party need one another, the leaders and elders need the youths. Everybody needs one another in the battle ahead if they must succeed.

Woro si woro…..

……to be continued.
