Only men responsible for the sex of the child

A university lecturer, Prof. Tamunotonye Jacks, has said that the culprit was solely responsible for a child’s sex.

Jacks stated that there was no point in blaming the woman for always giving birth to only female children, instead she said the man was to blame.

Jack, a professor of microscopic anatomy at Rivers State University, Port Harcourt, made the statement at the institution’s 84th inaugural address.

The lecture was titled ‘Tiny Lives and Families, the Nexus Before and After Birth: Phytomedicinal Impact’.

He explained that what determines the sex of a child, whether male or female, was the XY chromosomes, saying that what the man donates is what comes out in the long run.

According to him, “In terms of what the sex produces, whether it be male or female, the sex chromosome, XY. For the female it is constant, two X chromosomes. And the X is feminine. Only the man has X and Y.”

He continued: “So if the man donates Y chromosomes, the child will be a man. If the man donates X chromosomes, the child will be a woman.

“Woman is constant. Her own is just X. So if men blame their wives because they always give birth to women and then they want to get married to another person. The problem is the man, not another person. So it is important to know that the sex of the child depends on the culprit.”

Jacks describes the inaugural lecture as an achievement of an academic and says he reached academic heights fifteen years ago.

“If you have reached the height of a professor and you have not given an inaugural lecture, then you are not an ordinary professor. So for me it’s a fulfillment.

“I became a professor in 2008. But the opportunity came only now. Every academic is a giver of knowledge and you provide knowledge specific to your field, depending on the field.”

For the title of his lecture, the university said that hue is alive, just like other parts of the body that must be exercised to remain functional.

He stated, “These little lives are very critical and must be exercised like the exercises of the whole being. But some exercises are harmful to themselves. So these investigations are done to facilitate the arrest of these events.

University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Nlerum Okogbole praised Jack for his performance and said it was the second inaugural lecture from the College of Medical Sciences.

Okogbole reiterated the need for governments, businesses and organizations to support research efforts in the ivory towers.

He stated, “And Rivers State University is positioned and well placed to do more when we get this support from organizations. If we are supported, we can use them for the development of society.”
