In a statement released by the Commissioner for Culture and Tourism, Hon. Oluwasesan Fagbayi, the closure is part of ongoing efforts by the state government to revamp the renowned tourist attraction, enhance safety measures, and elevate the overall visitor experience.

“Olumo Rock attracts over 70,000 visitors every year. It is important that we give the facility a modern and befitting outlook that matches its status as a key symbol of Ogun State’s cultural heritage,” the Commissioner stated.

He emphasized that the renovation aligns with the government’s broader tourism development strategy aimed at preserving cultural landmarks while promoting economic growth through tourism.
