Ogun West PDP Leaders Forum Rejects Akinlade’s Divisive Politics, Reaffirms Loyalty To Adebutu

The Ogun West PDP Leaders Forum has vehemently disowned Hon. Abdulkabir Akinlade, the deputy governorship candidate of the party in the last general election, following his recent vitriolic outbursts against the party’s governorship candidate, Hon. Dr. Oladipupo Olatunde Adebutu.

In a scathing statement, the forum described Akinlade’s utterances as “ungentlemanly cries of an overgrown infant and a clear demonstration of his ‘legendary penchant for treachery and backstabbing.”

The forum recounted how Adebutu single-handedly brought Akinlade into the party, despite him not being a member as recently as 2022, and how he was accommodated and integrated into the party’s mainstream in Ogun West.

The statement highlighted Akinlade’s lack of financial contribution to the party’s success, his empty grandstanding, and his reliance on Adebutu’s financial fortune. It also referenced his history of treachery, including his betrayal of his elder brother, Otunba Akeem Adigun, and his former boss, Sen. Ibikunle Amosun.

The forum assured the public that Akinlade’s antics do not define the values and standards of Ogun West and that he is a “pathetic exception” to the collective political family.

The statement concluded by reaffirming the forum’s commitment to the party and Adebutu, and warning that Akinlade’s childishness will not diminish their hard-earned political relationships.

This development comes as a shock to many political observers, who had expected Akinlade to show gratitude to Adebutu for bringing him into the party fold. Instead, his treacherous utterances have exposed his true character, leaving many to wonder if he is a political asset or liability.
