Ogun State Govt. Breaks Silence Over Sagamu Downpour Havoc — Family Announced 14-Year Old Goodluck Abiola To Be Buried This Week
The family of the late young boy, Goodluck Abiola has announced that his body shall be buried this week.
In a response to The Eaglesforesight correspondent, the Commissioner for Environment, Mr Ola Oresanya has break silence; saying it’s a big shock to hear the unfortunate incidents that claimed the life of the young Goodluck Abiola.
An eyewitness who claims to be one of the family members said; he has been warned not to dare the flood, but yet followed the initial person (his elder brother) who was sent on errands, before he met his untimely death.
Upon hearing the sad news, the Ogun State government moved to have an on the spot assessments of what happened, where it happened and what can quickly be done to avert future occurrence.
The Ogun State Commissioner for Environment, Ola Oresanya said; it is worrisome what we call a gory erosion, this is an erosion site and it requires the Federal Government Interventions.
“We have to redesign the entire drainage here even though we have already completed the master plan of drainages for the State to know our elevation, the outfall and the regular maintenance of it.”

Recalled that the Ewusi of Makun Kingdom, HRH Oba Akinsanya Timothy has earlier gathered those affected by the flash flood to his palace to deliberate on way forward that will bring a lasting solutions.
“There are many suggestions by the people on what they feel can be the lasting solutions to the flooding that do claim life’s almost every year.”
“What the marketers and the residents in the affected areas were doing seems not to be encouraging for dropping their wastes in the drainages whenever there’s downpour of rainfall”, Ewusi said.
Oba Ewusi further said; “once the residents can stop dropping wastes in the drainage and there can be timely general cleaning, then we are averagely solving the problem of the areas.”
Ola Oresanya says; “there’s for now a temporary solution of the offspring from where the water is flowing, we are going to roll out our excavators for a brief diversion as a quick relieves to reduce the volumes of water that’s coming towards the direction of these affected areas.”
“The Federal House of Representatives member representing Sagamu Federal Constituency, Otunba Adewunmi Oriyomi Onanuga Ijaya will work hand in hand with the state government to find a lasting solutions to the speeds of erosion affecting those areas through Ecological funds”, Oresanya said.
