Ogun: Simawa Residents Begin Rehabilitation And Repair Works Of Major Roads Within The Community

The residents of Simawa Community in the Ward 13 area of Sagamu Local Government area of Ogun State have commenced work on the rehabilitation and repairs of the major road within the town.

The rehabilitation and repair works is being put together by the Simawa axis road project commitee under the aegis of the Simawa Axis development association.

The association is led by Aare Adetola Emmanuel King, the Chairman and assisted by Evang. Kolade Segun-Okeowo; who is the Vice Chairman.

Other leaders of the Simawa axis development  association include Elder Aliu Soyebo; the General Secretary and Deacon Ezekiel Olaniyi Taiwo who is the Treasurer.

The rehabilitation and repairs of the almost One kilometre stretch of road from The Simawa Police station down to the IPA community is being sponsored by communal and cooperative efforts of members of the community who are putting together funds to ensure the success of the project.

The current repairs and rehabilitation works on the road come on the heels of a recent call by the Simawa community on the Governor of Ogun State His Excellency, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Mfr to come to their aid.

According to the Vice Chairman of the Simawa Axis Development Association, Evang. Kolade Segun-Okeowo, the community decided to go for the self-help method while waiting anxiously for the Ogun State Government to come to her rescue and take over the project from the community leaders.

Speaking further, Evang. Kolade Segun-Okeowo who is a well-known gospel film actor and director also used the opportunity to send message to all the well-meaning leaders and members of the Simawa community to embrace the example of the members of the Simawa axis development association, led by Aare Adetola Emmanuel-King who have put their private funds into the project.

Segun-Okeowo finally sends a strong appeal to the Ogun State Government to assist Simawa residents to carry the burden of the road leading from Simawa to Likosi and the Lotto axis.
