Ogun Residents Worries Over Land Grabbers, Raises Alarm On Alleged Police Impersonator, King’s Threats

The people of Afowowa town of itori  community in Ewekoro Local Government area of Ogun State have cautioned members of the public against the activities of an alleged impersonator, former Chief Imam of Abuja central mosque, using the name of the Lagos State Police Command to threatening residents of Ogun State community over his engagement with the HRH Oba Umar Ajibola Hamzat Ajiborisa II, in plot of questionable land transactions.

The persons in question, popularly known as Chief Imam and the King, according to the elders of the family, were acting on a threats over their connection to the Lagos State Deputy Governor, Mr Obafemi Hamzat and the Lagos Commissioner of Police.

In a strong worded public notice sighted by Eaglesforesight correspondent as copied to Governor Dapo Abiodun and the Ogun State Commissioner of Police, and signed by heads of the various families in the village, including Adejoke Fatolu, the villagers condemned the activities of the alleged perpetuators, maintaining that  “Ewekoro Community under the leadership and eldership of Mrs Adejoke Fatolu remains one and indivisible, not even the threats of the king and his cohorts can divide us.”

The statement reads, “We use this medium to notify the Ogun State Government and the general public not to deal with anyone claiming to represent Afowowa community with any purported Power of Lagos State Police Command.

“We state categorically that Afowowa community is one of the towns in  Ewekoro and the only land ownership inherited from our ancestors.

“We further call on anyone whether individual or group that purchased land in Afowowa Community in particular, to start development with immediate effect as all land disputes would be settled”

The elders and leaders of family went ahead to appoint a representative of Fatolu family, Mr Shina Fatolu, Tunrayo Fatolu and Shola Obasanya, to act and take urgent decisions for the overall interest of the family.

But in a quick earlier reaction gathered by Eaglesforesight correspondent, the King and Chief Imam, including Chief Mutiu Taiwo (The Seriki of Afowowa community) denied the allegations against them, especially of causing disharmony among the family in the community and engaging in fraudulent land transactions.

As at the time of filing this report, The Eaglesforesight correspondent reaches out to The alleged King and Chief Imam, but they are both not responding to calls.
