Ogun People’s Redemption Party governorship candidate dies 7 days after presentation

The Governorship Candidate of Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), Ogun State Chapter in the forthcoming general election, Prof David Bamgbose has been reported dead, seven days after the party presented him as its flagbearer.

Eaglesforesight reports that, the politician Personal Assistant, Oduntan Olayemi confirmed the sudden demise, explaining that he earlier complained of weakness and was taken to a private hospital in Olomore area of Abeokuta.

The bereaved personal assistant, who is a senior pastor of Peace and Love Church, said the hospital management thereafter referred him to the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Idi-Aba, Abeokuta area of the town.

Eaglesforesight further reports that, Olayemi said on their way to the Federal Medical Centre, the family make a detour because of the urgency over his condition, and went straight to Sacred Heart Hospital, Lantoro in the town.

The personal assistant said he(Bamgbose) was subsequently admitted, and within a twinkle he became uncomfortable and his breath became worrisome and was immediately placed on oxygen, to revive him, but thereafter gave up the ghost.

ā€œHe complained of tiredness on yesterday (Thursday) and we decided to take him to hospital around Olomore. We were referred to FMC for further checks We opted for the Sacred Hospital, Lantoro because of the urgency and he was admitted at the emergency ward where he was administered with oxygen till today (Friday).

ā€œI got back to the hospital this morning (Friday) and I met him breathing too fast and heavy. I was at where I went to get him some prescribed medication that he has passed onā€, Olayemi lamented.

Eaglesforesight also reports that, it is recalled that, Bamgbose was last Saturday officially presented by his party, at a press conference held at Iwe-Iroyin Press Centre, in Abeokuta, where he described himself as the better choice to rule the state in the 2023 political dispensation.

The deceased declared that the emergence of his party was right time people can take their destiny in their own hands, and that they should be vigilant in looking at the quality, competence, antecedents of candidates and what the party stand for.

ā€˜I Prof David Olufemi Bamgbose stands and as a better choice for the people of Ogun State in the forthcoming 2023 general election in all ramifications coupled with the fact that PRP is a party that identifies with the masses and less privileged in the societyā€™, he declared.

ā€˜We will not be a government controlled by godfathers. The presidential candidate of our great party, PRP is the son of the late martyr of democracy, Kola Abiola is a reflection of the struggle and image of the establishment of democracy in Nigeriaā€™, he added.

ā€˜We will also involve the spirit of the symbol of the democratic struggle late Chief MKO Abiola to support us in our strive to establish a truly democratic society that he fought and die for, our society is not free and democratic yet because of undemocratic procedure and effect of monetization of our body polityā€™, Bamgbose emphasized.

Eaglesforesight reports that, he boasted that through his records and antecedent has identify with the people and believe that education and other dividends of democracy should be paramount in his administration if elected.

ā€˜We believe in Ogun State, I lived in Ogun state and we have the major percentage of our investment in Ogun state. We are not as an emergency politicians who masquerade as philanthropist in the season of electionā€™, Bamgbose declared.

ā€˜We have been consistent in our services to our dear state and country. This is why we want to escalated what we have been doing in our private capacity to a larger level through the government capacity and resources by the mandate of our people and the grace of Godā€™, he added.
